Fly Tying Bench - fishingbobnelson

Comment on This Bench

This is my tying desk. I built the desk from Sugar Pine about 20 years ago. It is about six inches higher than a normal desk. This puts the fly at eye level in the vice. I built it with tying in mind, the drawers are Cedar lined to prevent pests. I also built the bookcase. The books on the desk include a second edition "Trout", first editions "Index of Orvis Fly Patterns" volumes I and II and John Gierach's new book, "No Shortage of Good Days".
