I've seen the Loc-Tite brand super glue in some local stores. My other hobby is building scale models and I use super glue a lot for that. That white you're seeing is called fogging and is a chemical reaction between the vapors of the glue and the material. It doesn't happen all the time, only with certain formulations of super glue and certain materials. I'll try my old standard, Zap-a-Gap. If that fogs I'll grab some of that Loc-Tite.
