  1. Loads of Lovely flies posted latly! pure eycandy! heres The Nicholson. Ps. this one i tied in the vise, not in hand. Bearhug C
  2. Hi there. Nice coyote. Ill bet you can tie all sort of hair flies like tube flies and so on. it looks abit like fox hair so ill bet it would work just fine. some of the body hair might even be in good lenght for some bigger sonker strips. Bearhug C
  3. Big hub. your flie looks lovely. some how the hook gap seems big compared to the hook shank? what type hook are you using? Hm, try to get the tail just a tad longer. when you drop the flie on the table its supposed to stand on hackle and tail leaving the hook free from touching the surface. you should not need to have many turns of hackle just make sure the fibers are stiff enough to hold the flie standing on tips. i have no idea of what type dub you use so i assume you use dry dub. use a thin thread and keep the thread raps to a minimum. if you are to fish dries in floating water you can use an extended foam body and then just dress a wing and hackle like you did now. cdc is also great for dries. other than that i have no idea what you could do. Happy B-day Big Bear, if i was close i would have come over with a bottle of whiskey and give you a hand smoke that fish (read: help you eat that fish). Have the best day ever. Bearhug C
  7. That's pure eyecandy Claudia. What did you make the first section of the body with and what feather is the underwing? Yummy.. Hi real glad you like it. Underwing is BOP= bird of paradise the chatterbody is made from the green head and neck feathers of a golden breasted starling. Bearhug C It looks really nice What about the other half of the body, the crisscrosed one? Flat braid? Gustav. its no less than 20 different ribs tied in

  9. Thanks for the kind words all of you. Hej Gustav. I used wood duck och pin tail for the body veilings. Hi Brian. Welcome back. great flie. Bearhug C
  10. Dear fishyboy. I love that your reaching towards a classic and i think you made a great effort on the latest flie. if you want to reduce the winghight you can pull away more fibers on the down side of the feather (the side towards the hook shank) and leave some extra fibers on the top side. if you wet your fingers stroking the fibers on the side towards the hook shank you can actually get the wing to lie close to the body. that way when you tie in the wing the stripe on the feather your using will be nearly strait instead of tilted. try to have the black line in line with the but. Your thought about contacting John McLain is a good idea if you want to do some classic tying. John is a great guy and im sure he can give you some great advise on what materials you need to start of with. Bearhug C
  11. Hi Jindra. Thanks for explaining the buzzers so well for me. i really appreciate it! PS. Love your Barbie mayflie!!! Bearhug C
