  7. As long as you use a good size it should be fine. We use Matzuo sickle hooks on spoons when trolling Lake Michigan. They do get beat up and bend sometimes.
  8. Tremendous job! That is one of the best crawfish patterns I have seen!
  9. My grandpa who ties these all the time gets his tinsel from this guy. It is very good quality tinsel at a good price. And the size is perfect for tying those flies. http://www.stanleysstingerflies.com/Materi...rice%20List.htm
  10. Bruce this is a tube fly my grandpa ties and uses these on Lake Michigan for salmon all the time. The cone head isnt needed but can be used. What you see is the fly which is a tube fly and can slide up and down the leader which has a treble hook and beads between the treble and the fly.
  11. Those are good flies for salmon on Lake Michigan. More of a trolling fly though. You will need to buy banded tinsel and tube for tying them on. All I like to do is to cut enough tinsel to make the fly full with tinsel. Leave the band on the tinsel and wrap the band around the tube and then tie down. That way you get a perfect looking fly thats easy to do. Let me know if you have any other questions. Hope this helps.
  12. Forums faster! Which is awsome!
  13. The different types of hackle and the uses like wet and dry. In other words I know nothing about hackle. :dunno:

  15. Yea I agree search google and even get a book.
  16. Got a block of wood and some dowels lying around. You can easily make that into a spool holder. All I did was measure out the space needed between dowels and then drill holes in those spots then glue the dowel pieces in the holes.
  17. I took a look at a danvise and considering buying one. One question are the jaws metal. Kind of a stupid question.
