Ross i probably worded it wrong should have seed i don't like it when Mark critiques fly's that he doesn't tie. IE married wings, full feathered wings, built wings, spey wings, Dee wings and mixed wings. Yes Mark is a good tier in what he ties. So what i am saying is if you are going to critique a fly you better know how to tie that style of fly. Here is a example this is copied and pasted from his forum And i can dig up a lot more of him critiquing fly's that couldn't tie i'd like to see it on a White hook.....with the head being half Red ([prolly in the front) and half Blue (prolly in the rear).......just my wacked-out imagination........btw, are you gifting that fly per chance? just curious and no self interest intended.........trust me. ;>) Insude by emails wondering if i would sell the fly NOT Rocky

Mike for salmon fly's pick a pattern then call John McLain and then tie that pattern tell you perfect it then pick another. As for critique fly's i don't. I had 2 people join my tying club after 3 meetings the wanted honest opinions of there work i gave them my opinion and how they don't tie any more. 2 tying fly's to perfect proportions is BS because yesterday i caught fish on light cahill that were perfect and on 1s that the hackle and wing was 1/2 gap to long. and a ugly head. I have seen people critique fly's such as a orange heron for not tenting the wings, wings to long so on and so on. So i tied some orange herons 1 tented and so called perfect proportions and tied 1 with non tented wing and 1 with a non tented wing that was a full gap to long. Then swam all 3 in a calax machine and all 3 swam exactly the same. So if i was to post the fly with the long wing i would have gotten some pretty bad critiques but in the end it would have made no difference in the way the fly would preform. 3 And the thing that F@$#% P!$$@$ ME OFF Faster than any thing is some one that critiques fly's that never post his own fly's IE willow head and a few others Rocky
