  1. I recently given some hides of deer, elk and antelope. I know what I can use the deer and elk for, but what about the antelope? It looks like there are a few different shades and colors of the antelope hide. Thanks! Brian
  2. OK, OK. It was me. :hyst: It wasn't, but it sounds like a fun assignment! Where can I see this anyway? Brian
  3. As someone who wears The Flag on his right arm every day, I have always felt that it's hard to make a bad photograph of The Flag. Yours here, has the Jay Morr signature written all over it, which elevates this Flag photography expotentially. Brian
  4. My wife and I are considering a trip next year, my wife is a lot of great things, but she's not all that outdoorsy, so we are considering a cruise. I have found one cruise that has a salt water flats fly fishing excursion in Grand Turk, in the Carribean. Anyone ever criuse and do one of these fly fishing excursions? Any other options? Thanks! Brian
  5. Sinar makes them too. http://www.sinarbron.com/sinar/digital/digitalmain.php It's not a cheap venture. Brian
  6. Excellent! Excellent! EXCELLENT!! You couldn't have made a better choice, unelss of course you had chose a Nikon film camera.... I look forward to seeing what you get with your new camera. Brian
  7. I'm not much of a wild life photographer, but I'd say these are great. Your composition and the way you nailed the hawk make these great. You have a great camera I am sure your photography will improve immensely! Brian
  8. Where were these at Jay? I fished the Weber yesterday, and along the way on I-80 we saw lot's elk, deer and moose all over, especially up Parley's. Good stuff as usual. Brian
  9. New cameras are GOOD!!! What did you end up with anyway? Brian
  10. I have heard that! Thanks for the reply. Brian
  11. A few of my friends are bird hunters, and have offered to give me whatever feathers they get from their various hunts. Some hunt pheasant only, others duck. I also have a friend who has a few chickens in her home. Which leads me to my question. Besides the tail and neck feathers, what feathers are usueful for tying flies? What birds are best for tying feathers? Anything else I am missing would be helpful. Thanks! Brian
  12. I am assuming you are looking for a digital camera. One thing you'll need is a program like PhotoShop or it's consumer counterpart Elements. With it you can adjust, print and resize your pictures for the web. As far as cameras go, how much do you want to spend? Once you decide that, you might want to check out some reviews of cameras at that price point. A good place to do that, in my opnion, is http://www.photographyreview.com, you'll find lot's of good user reviews in the reviews section. Good Luck and let us know what you decide. Brian
  13. That's one of the funniest things I have heard in a while! That should have done the trick! :hyst: Brian
  14. Here's a question! What exactly can you do with this stuff? I am a novice here. Is this stuff more for bass jigs or can you use it for legs or wing cases for flies? I ask this becasue I too sent in for the samples thinking it would be stuff I could use for that legs and wing cases, but now that I have it, I am not sure how to use it. Thanks! Brian
  15. It sound sto me you are looking for something like a Mamiya 645, or maybe even the Bronica equivilant, which is an older camera. The Mamiya is even AF, which is what I'd go for. Good Luck! Brian
  16. Hoo Ahh!! Looks good! I'd drop for 20, for one of those. SSG MTBBRIAN USA
  17. I think I know you from somewhere! Howdy! Brian
  18. They are cheaper for one. You can get a pro level 35mm SLR for real cheap these days, I am talking used ones of course. Nikon F5 and F100 for example. An F5 was something like $2K when it was first out is not going for $500-$700 or so these days. They won't become "outdated" within six months or so. There are some SLR camera that don't use batteries whatsoever, they are completley mechanical. Brian
  19. Happy B-day Al! Here's to many more to come. Brian
  20. Good luck with that thing! It's not a Nikon, but all camera's can't be Nikons.. I look forward to seeing wht you come up. Regards, Brian
  21. I don't have any fly fishing photographs, yet. But I am always interested in getting stuff published. If given enough time I could get a photograph for a given assignment if needed. I shoot film with a Holga, which is considered a "toy camera" so my stuff is a little different, but I think it would fit well. Take a look at my site for some examples of my photography. Brian I was hoping I'd beat you to the post Jay!
  22. http://www.wrflyfisher.com A fine local shop in SLC. I'll be taking a tying class from them next month, I should frequent them more. Brian
  23. LOL Well said! I did a request too. Thanks for the information. Brian
  24. If you didn't take it, why did you post it? Does the person who took it know that you posted it? Brian :dunno: :nono:
