  1. ...comes from a Turkey. I would have signed up for this. Lately "Awesome Lady" has said that most things I give her come from a turkey!

    A to Z Swap

Yeah, except I have to buy two packs because the first couple are always a bit rough around the edges..... I am with you on that one. Have lots of partial packs laying around my bench.

    A to Z Swap

I thought that swaps, like this one, were the reason that hooks were sold in packages of 25.

    A to Z Swap

PM sent to the "Big E", about the letter "D".
  8. Thanks, never really heard of a 'crease' fly before. They look very interesting. I would be interested in seeing the final results.,
  9. That's how I feel too. After all, I am saving so much money by tying my own flies ????????
  10. I agree that it is unbelievable that our two countries have difficulties dealing with a few envelopes going back and forth. The suggestion about the empty CD case is great. I think that I will try it on the next swap.
  11. Great idea, having 2 standby for replacement in case of drop outs.
  12. Great looking 'bugger. On a different note, DONE ????? :shocking: Heck, I haven't even got hooks yet!!! :headbang: Thanks for the extra incentive to get going.
  13. Hello Rick, Just off 12 hour shifts and now running a swap!! Way to go!! If its OK with you, I will jump in with a beaded Olive bugger.
  14. I was thinking about joining in with this swap. But,...... I was in the 'swapaholics swap' and I am still trying to recover!!!!
  15. I got a hint from "Awesome Lady" that I have too much stuff already. So no fly fishing / tying stuff, but a whole lot of other cool things. Plus a nice visit with my Mom (83 yrs old) and my Dad (89 yrs) Hope that everyone, and their families, had a great Christmas and looks forward to a great New Year.
  16. txflytier, hope that everything is working out OK. Merry Christmas to all, and thanks for letting me "tie one on" in this swap. December marks the end of my first year returning to fly fishing after a break of around 30 years. It has been great to participate and begin getting some skill back into my fingers. Have a good year, Give me a call if anyone gets out to the west coast BC, Min
  17. This is a great idea, lots of possibilities. Are you sure that your 'mail box' can handle the potential volume? Any particular themes? Holidays? Messiest? Tidiest? Only one entry per person? Now all I need to do is start taking pictures !!
  18. Thanks, I appreciate the opportunity to be in these swaps. We use a lot of leeches, which are easy to tie. I really enjoy the chance to try different patterns and materials. Kind of 'forces' me to explore. Min
  19. smalliestalker, That signature line is just about perfect. Short and just about covers the entire concept. Speaks volumes in just a few words.
  20. Missed the opportunity for bird hunting this year, work is getting in the way. Kind of made up for it by getting in some extra fishing time instead. Nice bird!! No other explanation needed. After all, who can resist a wet, muddy swamp first thing in the morning.
  21. Great, gotta love flies that catch fish. So much better than the flies that just catch fishermen.
  22. Assymetrical, scalped sculpins are in the mail.
  23. These are more of a challenge than I thought. Probably because of the spun/razorred deer hair. I am having a hard time to get the 'heads' trimmed symmetrically. I was going to use the word evenly, but, 'Awesome Lady' told me that 'symmetrically' is smarter. Still doesn't help me trim them properly!!!
