  1. Does anybody know where I can get a cutter that cuts claw? Most places just sell body cutters and I,m having a hard time finding one.I was told by the local fly shop that there is only one guy who makes them. I find it hard to believe that there is only one person in the whole country that makes them.
  2. My season never stops. I live close to some tailwaters that never freeze. As long as they don't open the flood gates and it's not 5 degrees out I'm out. Today it's about 15 degrees with a 20 mph wind. I think I'll stay in and tie today.
  3. I plan on doing some work in Fairhope in May.I will be staying right on the bay.I probably won't have access to a boat so it will be all shore fishing or wading.Does anybody know what will be biting in May or what type of patterns I should use. I've never been there before so the area is all new to me so any help would be appreciated.
  4. currently unemployed carpenter, but I'll do any type of of construction,tile/carpet/hardwood,drywall,roofing,plumbing,electrical.Mainly I frame and do exterior trim on custom homes. 5000square feet or bigger.I just started tying flys in Oct.
  5. First of all Happy Thanksgiving. I was wondering if anybody was going to eat something they got while hunting turkey, pheasant, venison or anything of that nature.
  6. Any thoughts on how to thicken up the body. I had wrapped the hook with lead wire but I didn't want to overdub the body.I've read that less is more. Maybe I should pick out the dubbing to make it look bigger or should I ad something to the body to make it bigger? If I ad something what would it be?
  7. I tied this on a #6 Mustad. It was my first time using thin skin. I was looking for some thoughts on my design.I think my hackle was a little big but it was all I had.I used 30#fluorocarbone and melted the ends to make the eyes. They're kind of hard to see in the picture my cam is pretty old.
  8. Here's my first royal wulff try.Any thoughts
  9. Pictures not that great but it was taken with my cell. It was my first brook trout on any type of rod.
  10. I've only been tying for about three months. This is my is my first shot at an adams.the picture not that great but I was wondering what everybody thought.
  11. Oh no I didn't take the feather. I just wondered what the law was on that.
  12. So I was wading and a bald eagle flies over me and down the stream. As I made my way around the bend I looked down the stream and seen the bald eagles nest. I went over to the tree the nest was in and was looking around. I stopped and looked down and found a feather. I'm pretty sure it's a bald eagle feather. Does anyone know if it's illegal to take, or use a bald eagles feather. I thought it would be cool to tie with, but not cool enough to go to jail for. :dunno:
