I use a HMH Spartan Vise. It is a great vise. Not only is their vise good but the customer service is fantastic. I recently messed up the vise by trying to put too big of a hook in the jaws. I heard a pop noise and stopped. I contacted them and they talked with me to see if i could fix it. But then they told me to just send it in. It cost me $3 to send it to them. They received it Yesterday, then then fixed it and polished and sent it out today. All it cost me was the price to send it there.

Good to see them all make it, i have a mulberry tree around me. Actually my grandpa has one in his backyard. So i might do some chumming to see if the carp like them, and if if they do then i'm gonna throw out that mulberry fly. And if not, i'm sure the bluegills will tear them up around here.

A smallie would chow down on that thing.

Great video Cream, those flies are fantastic also, adding them to my arsenal.

Have you tried putting some weight on the top side of the hook. Then do what JSzymczyk was talking about when he was saying trim a reverse popper type fly. Just a thought.
-
Tarpon Toad, some baitfish flies i think would work well.

Thats killer man. Gratz on all of it.

Flies are out!

Nope, and if i need to get down i will use a spit shot. Because if you fish a certain river that could have a multiple of pools that are different depths. First you will have to use up tippet material to change the fly for a certain hole. And you would need to carry a variety of one fly in total different weight for just the one river. And if you fish multiple rivers you'll have crazy amounts of flies that you would be carrying. If you fish with split shots, you could just add split shot if the pool is deeper, or if it gets shallow again just take the split shot off.

we all get it sometimes somethings I do to overcome it is 1. I look through the tiers benchside reference and find a technique I haven't tried before and start practicing it till I get it down. 2. I search the pattern database for something new. 3. join a swap. 4. go buy a new material.
hope one of these suggestions help. But not to be condescending with 3 days of no kids I think fishing would be higher on the list then tying.
That's what i mainly do.

All sorted up, everyone got 3 extras, and i will have them out tomorrow.
-
Gonna divide them up tonight.
-
Well if you could list the materials you got, then we would be able to help you.

Thats some killer S*** right there!!!

It's over for us in Jersey, all were getting are strong winds. But the water damage is bad, three is a auto body shop about 100 yards from the pond and all you can see is the top 2 feet of a truck. I'll try to snap some pics for you guys.
Edit: Here some pics for you guys.
If you look at the little black fence that is poking above the water, thats a 4 foot fence.
The top of a car, that was in the parking lot of the auto shop.
A store for rent, i think it might be a while before it gets rented out.
An overall view of the pond.
Another top of a car at the same auto shop.

Sounds awesome! That's one thing you'll never forget. Hey if you get her tying you can have her tie your flies for you.

Ditz your flies arrived. Also I got in touch with the two stragglers, and one of them is being dropped from the swap. I'm talking to the other guy right now. I will have them separated and a few extras to everyone.

Kirk, i've you look at Steve P's post i think he put a link for the item you were looking for.
Yeah, that looks like the stuff. I didn't check out Steve's link - I wasn't really looking for the product just throwing it out there for the poster. I've got a bad habit of not really reading all the posts before commenting, I usually just skim.
Kirk
I do the same thing.

Or the poor mans bonefish. Either way they are a hoot to catch, and can't wait till this hurricane passes so I can get out.

I was at the Fly Tackle Dealers show this past weekend here in New Orleans and Pat Dunlap of Cascade Crest Tools had jars of dye that he was dipping foam popper heads in to. I don't believe they are in his catalog yet but give him a call, he may be able to sell you some. http://www.cascadecrest.com/

Great SBS Kirk! What a great small minnow imitation, for a wide species of fish. How does it sit in the water? Does it float, or slowly sink, does it dive head first.

No problem, you might just want to wash them out a little bit though.
