About Me

Ive been fly fishing for several years but really got into tying in 2006 or so. I cant remember the last time I used a fly that I didnt tie myself.

I feel pretty comfortable with most of the common methods and feel like I can figure out most flies. I feel like there is always something new to learn when it comes to tying...but thats why I like it.

Most of my life revolves around fish and fishing. I fish as often as I can and tie as much as possible. I also am currently working towards a PhD in zoology but my focus is on Aquauculture. I study fish nutrition, physiology, health and diseases.

I enjoy fishing smaller creeks for smallmouth and rainbows when I can. But that doesnt mean I wont pass up a chance to fish someplace like the White River in Arkansas (which is where my profile pic was taken).

Species I have caught on the fly: Bluegill, redear, crappie, largemouth, smallmouth, hybrid stripped bass, channel catfish, blue catfish, brook trout, brown trout, rainbow trout, cutthroat trout, coho salmon, chinook salmon.

Species I need to get: northern pike, muskie, pink salmon, atlantic salmon, steelhead
