  1. I used a Thompson for many years and its still as good as new. I bought a dyna king trekker a year ago, it works great and I do'nt think I can live without the rotary feature anymore. You have to learn how to use these because you can break hooks with them, but once you learn how to adjust the vise to the hook it is no prblem. These vises will definetly hang onto a hook! Well worth the money and I think it will last a lifetime.
  2. Theres not much of a story behind the moniker "rockbreaker". That is what I do for a living, I am a crushing forman for the local sand+gravel. We are owned by Old Castle corp. which is one of the largest producers of aggregates and asphalt in the US. I have been taken care of rock crushing plants for 25 years, including all maintenence involved, a lot of welding and fabrication work etc.... oh, and did I mention that I also babysit full grown men,ha,ha! Actually thats not that funny but its part of the job. Most every thing we produce has to pass state specs so it can be very trying at times,. Needless to say this is a very noisey, dusty, dirty tough business and flyfishing and tying give me the diversion I need to relax. An old gentleman that used to work for the company (he was a civil engineer) who I got to know pretty well working on different projects with paid me quite a compliment one time. He watched me tying flies one time and was looking at some of my flies. He said that he thought it was amazing that someone who can swing a 12 pound sledge hammer (with dam good accuracy by the way!) could sit and tie these delicate little flies. He thought it was just the neetest thing, I always felt that to be a wonderful compliment by a very smart man. Let me just finish by saying that no one appreciates beuttiful, quiet places anymore than I do, and fish live in some of the most beutiful places on earth.
  3. Hello all from northern NH, the forum looks interesting so here goes. I have been fishing since i can remember and i got into to flyfishing as a teen. I haave been tying for almost twenty years and now am selling flies online. my web address is www.dansflyshop.net. Check it out and let me know what you think, feedback is always welcome. One of the things I like about tying is you never stop learning and its also fun to help someone else learn. The fishing in northern NH is outstanding, there are a lot of crystall clear streams with plenty of trout in beutiful suroundings. There is also some great smallmouth fishing, and a much more. You will have to excuse my typing and spelling skills!
