  4. Here is a married wing spey and a standard spey that have taken fish for me on the lake O tibs. These are both tied on Alec Jackson 2055 1.5s .
  5. First sorry I haven't posted over here in some time . There are a lot of great things going on here, everyone is posting great ties! I did the Arts Of The Angler show in Connecticut this weekend and was fortunate to win a bag of some prized white hair. I was so excited to win it and was ready with some ideas as to what tye with it. Here is one that I came up with the Polar Blue . I hope you all like it!
  6. Here is a cool spey I tied up last night for a frame thought I would share it here with you all. Enjoy!!
  7. Tied a couple more today not as nice as the first . But I think they'll work just fine...
  8. I have to say I blame Rocky for this new addiction! My bench is over flowing with goodies and it got the best of me today so I decided to give it a shot and this is what I came up with hope you all like it. :headbang:
  9. Thank you guys these are for fishing and they do work. As for the recipe they are tyed on a size 6 salmon hook. Tag silver tinsel tail golden pheasant crest body rear red silk or floss round gold tinsel ribbing body front yellow amber seal fur dubbing flat embossed legarten tinsel gold throat teel and some red cocks hackle wing red and yellow deer hair stacked cheeks jungle cock
  10. Beautiful tye! The colors are great and this fly has a nice flow to it !
  11. Thank you Mike these look even better here!
  12. Here's a group of fly's I tied up for steelheading up in New York . They seem to work pretty good. Enjoy!
  13. Thank you everyone for your kind words ! Wasn't sure of the balance on this as it is on a 1/0 2xl hook but the more I look at it the more it grows on me. Blue and yellow fly's work very well in the New York tribs on bright days in the riffles and along the under cut banks . Swing them through and hang on because a vicious strike can take the rod right out of your hand. ALLEN
  14. First let me say hello as I have never posted on this side of the site . I do most of my posting in the classic streamer and wet fly portion. I have been tying some hair and feather wing salmon ,steelhead fly's and thought I would share them here. This is one I tied up the other night I do not have a name for it it's just something I put together. ALLEN

  20. Some great tye's popping up hear love those bead head nymphs got to get some of them in the box and the beautiful speys as well as the nicely tyed winged wets very nice!! Thank you Claudia!! I'm glad you liked it was no treat weaving floss on for the body it's a little time consuming to produce alot of them but fun to tye no the less. Hear is the latest effort from the vise it's a streamer pattern I use for brookies here in the fall. The Fall Brookie
  21. Brodheadscreek, oh my god you been on the tyingbench alot then no wonder youre flies are great. i like the classic wets alot and iv just been starting on the classics and wets. must say that they appeal a hole lot to me as they are so clean and great lookin. i like youre first try on the admiral alot, wings looks sweet body work fine rib even and right length tail, the only down thing is by my meaning that the false hackle is a tad to long, hope you dont minde me sayin so. No problem thank you Claudia for pointing that out its always nice to get input it helps to make a better tyer. Heres a colorful fly for the lack of a name for it I guess we can call it the Sunrise I tried something a little different on the body I wove orange and yellow floss as apposed to winding it on gives it a pretty cool look. What do you think? Got myself some schalapen at the show makes a nicer beard. Hope to see some of your tyes up soon!!
  22. Hi Claudia, Thank you for your kind compliments I have been fly fishing and tying since the age of 13 and am starting to tye for the first time classic winged wets as they break up my time at the vise the ones in avitar are some of my first megar attemps and hoping through this website to improve and tye as well as or close to some of the fantastic tyer's on this board there are ton's of amazing fly's on here your's included. Here is a pic of my first attemp of aclassic winged wet The Admiral. A little shakey but not bad I don't think.
  23. All good suggestions here contrary to belief black does work quite well. I have switched over to EP fibers for my parachute fly's and the light colors work well the light seems to bounce off them making your fly easy to see. And if you like fishing after the sun goes down then Steelie has a superb suggestion glow in the dark I have tyed and used them nothing more exciting than seeing your fly disappear on a summer evening in the dark!!
  24. Hi Steelie, I see you are from West Michigan I have alot of family up that way in Grand Rapids very nice place and some good fishing to boot.
  25. Thank you all for your compliments! And as far as sharing is concerned with pattern recipes is not a problem feel free to ask . This is the reason I signed up for this board as there are many talented tyer's here whom are willing to help out and give good sound advice cuts down greatly on the learning curve. Most of my tying skills came through trial and error and many hours of practice. The internet is a beautiful thing wish I had it at my disposal 30 yrs. ago it would have been so much easyer. Thank you all again!
