Bump.
Hey, we still have room for 3 more tiers. If you've been thinking about joining a swap, this will be fun.
-
Travis...really sorry. I found your flies behind a table by the door, nestled in safely for quite some time. Must have fell back while sitting precariously in a pile. So relax all is well. I don't think I ever had a set not arrive, so this makes me feel better.Just waiting for my west coast boys then all is a go!!!
Well, those west cost flies do tend to be a bit more laid back than others :-)

How are these looking? I get horribly insecure tying flies for anyone other than myself.
Nice! No reason to worry, those are fish getters :-)
-
one little change for me...I couldn't get the hen to behave the way I wanted it to so they will now have brown rooster collars.Sounds good. As a friend of mine says, "the fishies will decide."

I'm in with a Bibio (hawthorn fly) if and only if, I can pay the return shipping via PayPal./Henrik
You're in, and absolutely with the PayPal. It's a great way to handle the postage. Thanks for joining.

My choose of pattern are "Takayama Sakasa Kebari" and in the color green.

Remember... there's elegance in simplicity. In that case I'm in with some Dun and Cree Sekasa Kebari. The elegantest ever!
Perfect! Thanks for joining!

Yep...Awhile ago I bought a half dozen Tenkara flies to check them out. No reason they shouldn't do anything a soft hackle would do and the forward leaning hackle should fluff nicely in the water. I may not use them for Tenkara fishing but can see their use in other applications. I bookmarked a cool looking Tenkara fly with an alternating bead and dubbing that looked interesting. Not really simple but rather elegant. I'll give that a shot. No name so let's call it the beaded bomber.Sounds good to me, glad to have you aboard. And you're right about the variation of application. The flies are effective in a number of ways.

You know I'm with a TBDHe, he… somehow I knew.
-
I'll give this a shot too, been wanting to try tying sakasa kebari type flies for a while now and this'll give me an excuse to learn.I'll be tying a Pheasant tail-type fly, with a brown hen collar, peock herl thorax and pheasant tail body.
Glad to have you and the fly sounds like a real fish-getter.
-
I'm speaking up, not sure what it is but I will investigate.Do you know I bought a tenkara rod about 11 years ago and never knew what it was till I googled it not long ago. lol.
You were ahead of your time and just didn't know it :-)

Dr. Ishigaki's Fly is the one for me, pure simplicity and a well proven fly. You're right… simple, proven, and it's from one of the masters. Glad to have you!
-
I guess it's time for another one of these... Tenkara fishing is pretty simple and the flies aren't complex, so let's do a Tenkara swap.
Standard swap rules apply for the first eleven to speak up:
- Self-addressed stamped envelope and toe tags on your flies to me
- Due date is March 3 (I would've said March 6 or 7, but I'll be at the Northwest Fly Fishing Expo :-))
I'll keep everyone posted on progress. When you've completed your flies, shoot me a PM and I'll give you my mailing address.
Remember... there's elegance in simplicity.

Picked up my box of flies yesterday from fishingbob himself (good to live close to the swapmeister). Great set! I told Bob all I had to do was take this set wherever I go, and I'll be set. Thanks Bob and thanks to all tiers!

Problem with internet$&@"(? 4 th try in getting on long enough to say: OKYeah, mine's been the same way, though our cables aren't nearly as cold as yours :-)
The flies went out last week, so I'm assuming they're taking their sweet time to get there. Either that, or they stepped out of the tin, felt the air, and figured out a way to get back to California. He, he...
-
Oh yeah, I'm in...
-
Ha! Saw the first page of this swap, and yup, I'm worried about fishybob. You know he wet wades in the winter!!!
Flies are ready to head your way tomorrow, so I need your addy. Also, if you can PM your email, I can send postage money via PayPal :-)
Thanks for hosting. Great idea!
