Well, this is kinda weird and kinda funny too... Since Scott and I live in the same neck of the woods, I was able to hand over my flies for this swap when he and I went fishing together. Long story short, we were never able to connect up again--he's working when I'm fishing, I'm working when he's fishing, life and family stuff, you know the routine. All that to say Scott was kind enough to mail the flies to me, and, "wow!" You guys did an awesome job. Thanks Scott for hosting, and thanks to you all for some great flies.

rich5665 and txflytier, PM's sent...
And wouldn't you know it... I'm at our local FFF club meeting tonight, and what do I see at our lending library? "Streamer Flies for Trophy Trout," Volume 1 with Kelly Galloup. The chapters are Zoo Cougar, Stacked Blonde, Wooly Sculpin, Twin Tail Madonna, and Galloup's Craw. LOL. Wish I had seen this a month ago. Can't wait to fire it up now.

John,I m willing to take any ability level the purpose of oing these swaps is to push yourself to new limits and have fun doing it, and if Rich says your ability is good then it definitly is good, so does it mean you are in ?
Kevin
Wow, Kevin, thanks. I'd love to try. And Rich, you are far too kind ;-) Thank you.
I'm definitely learning, but definitely willing to push myself too. So, is the JJ's Wooly Bugger a Galloups fly, or are they just the flies that actually say "Galloups..."?
If I can, I'll be in with a JJ's...
John
Geez, it's such a boring name compared to all the others. Ha! :-) And Horseshoes, awesome control man. Congrats! He he.

COME ON FOLKS SIGN UP LOL !!!Kevin, I might be willing to get in, but being a relative noob when it comes to tying (about a year), I'm going to have investigate these flies a bit more. But, I found a great source--the Galloup's Slide Inn store. All the streamers (66) are here:

That henrys fork caddis looks like a winner, thanks much! The reason i dont want to use deer hair is indeed due to allergies. That dubbing dispenser in my avatar left for the big scratching post in the sky 2 years ago, and while i loved him much, animal fur and me dont mix. Sadly, no more pets, and if i can help it, no animal hair (i had to give up trapping for the same reason)
Thanks again!
Sorry to hear about the allergies--my oldest son has the same problem.
The Henry's Fork is a great fly. I've used it in a number of Sierra streams and have caught 'bows, browns, and goldens. Good luck!

Anyone have any decent caddis patterns that are easy to tie and do NOT involve any sort of deer or elk hair? Currently i tie my caddis with duck quill wings and palmered hackle, theyre good producers, but arent the most durable things. (It IS nice that i am able to use the same materials on all my mayfly and caddis imitations)Thanks.
Have you seen this one?

A really nice fly, and it's been productive for me.

Mr. Burge I am glad to see you made it, on a side note I took a trip up to Alder Creek and the flows are still high but should be ready in about 2 or 3 weeks. And Mr. V, great news. I am so ready for some elevation. BTW, be sure to ask me about the little piggies that bent my 3wt in half and broke my leader--twice--in our favorite pond ;-)

Scott, I'm definitely in with a TBD ;-)

Nice tie JohnI look forward to seeing it first hand
This is shaping up to be a great swap. I am really enjoying the great level of involvement from everyone so far.
And the feeling's mutual. And the idea of razor foam for the wingcase is brilliant. Can't wait to put one of those bugs of yours in the water ;-)
