  7. I'm with you on that Sk...........I've been a bosox fan for 42 years and never wavered (cringed a few times though)............just 2 years ago everyone was amazed that a team could have a 100 mil. payroll...........now the yanks are going to top 200 mil.........They are going thru arb. w/Gabe White and are in the hunt for Greg Maddux........unbelievable!!
  8. Well.........., i just got back........It was a pretty good show.......nothing like the big shows out on the East coast, but not too bad. Plenty of exhibitors, demo.s, etc. Not a lot of deals on gear, but there were a few if you looked hard enough. I only stayed about 2 hours because i had my 8 year old daughter with me. they had a kids section, just not too many kids around. I think a bunch of the old guys got a kick out of watching my daughter sit down at the tying table and whip out a wooly bugger...........
  9. How about it? Is Green Caddis going to have a booth?
  10. I think i saw that episode......it was pretty good. Hey TB, Is that up in the panhandle?

    Fry Fly

thanx LB, I've never used a rabbit strip on anything that small......I've got another pattern I've used for years trying to imitate the small Shad fry in my neighborhood rivers, but it doesn't have half the action this would......... mike
  12. As far as I'm concerned, you are a lucky man............I might have made it out 20 times last year..........

    New Fly Rod

Red, IMHO, if this is your first and maybe only rod for a little while, you might want to consider maybe a 6 or 7 weight 8-9 footer. It would be a little more versatile......Not that you can't catch a lot on a 3 wt..........It just might be a little less frustrating in the beginning. Mike
  15. All I can say is................WOW!!!!!
  16. It'll catch fish Will...............I've been playing with it myself this past week.
  17. yeah, I love his show.......I had planned to drive up to Columbus last July when he was in town, but the little league team I was coaching made it to the playoffs and i couldn't get away.........he is supposedly coming back to ohio this coming summer to film another episode on carp fishing..........hopefully i can find the time to go see him.
  18. It looks like it will catch fish to me...........
  19. The "Walkers Cay Chronicles" episode airing the weekend of 2/21-22, on ESPN2 was filmed at a place called the "Wilds" which is about 45 minutes East of columbus, Ohio. I mentioned this a while back in another thread, but the show schedule wasn't posted yet. The "Wilds" is a reclaimed strip mine area that is now set up as some sort of co.op for several large zoos in Ohio. They started out just raisng hay and other plants to feed the zoo animals and then began releasing thier surplus herd animals to run loose there.........the place is loaded with hundreds of small ponds and lakes(with more being created each year by the large beaver population). It's been closed for fishing until recently. Now a fly shop out of Columbus has some sort of agreement with the place and they run a couple trips a year there........hence the walkers cay episode. I've never fished the "Wilds", but right next door is another 10's of thousands of acres known as "Ohio Powerlands"(I think the name just changed, but I forget what they call it now). I try to go there atleast once each year and it makes for some tremendous bass/bluegill fishing. they have free campgrounds and the fishing permits are free. As long as you don't go on one of the big "redneck" holidays, you pretty much have the place to yourself. I usually camp on one of the bigger lakes and then take my bellyboat and hike back to some of the more secluded ponds/lakes for some great fishing.
