I bought Charlie Craven's beginner book a couple weeks ago. It has alot of great flies. I feel the instructions are clear and very well done. Highly recommend it. It has Hares Ear, Pheasant Tails, Copper Johns, Prince's, Wulfs, Humpy's, etc.

Thanks guys for the fast reply. I have been leaning twards the HMH but just wasn't sure. Thanks again for the advice!!

I am torn between the HMH Spartan and the Peak vise. I am a beginner so I am wondering if I should buy the HMH to learn on or the Peak. I guess my thought about it is, maybe I should start with a basic vise and maybe if I get "hooked" later on I could learn how to use a true rotary vise with the peak. I think maybe it would be best for me to learn the basic style before the more "modern" true rotary style. I know both vises are great from all the threads I have read here. The only thing I can't figure which would be best to LEARN to tie. Let me know if I am totally over thinking it or not. Thanks for any help!!!
