  1. I own an aquarium shop, after many days spent to admire the colour and the shape of Lysmata Debelius shrimp I wanted to tye one, That's the first attempt, the second I tied was for the third Thorthon's book "fly tyers of the world", where Steve wanted to publish some of my flies. Do you like it?
  2. I really can't make photos for step by step instruction, these ones was made, for an article by the editor of the magazine where I write. Anyway if you need some written instruction to tie some particular I'll be happy to help you.
  3. Hi all, after a while I post another of my flies. That's an inesct really common in Italy. I love this bug, when I was a child my granfather tied a piece of thread to a leg of a Cetonia and we child let it fly and "guided" it as a toy airplane, I know children can be really cruel! Hope you like it. Ciao, Federico
  4. Hi guys, I'm sorry for the delay of my anwser; due to some problems with the organization we decided to shift the WTO 3 to 2010. We all want to make a great event and this year it is not possible, so we had to decide between make a "normal" contest this year or to wait and make a super event with the usual quality in the jury. We had no doubts and we decided to wait. I'll keep the forum informed... ciao, Federico.
  5. Hi guys, I wish to thank all partecipants at the WTO2, I'm sorry for the delay of this post but I was really busy the next months. What to say?? kepping in my hands flies from some friends of this forum was really amazing. Me and all other jurors had an hard time in voting all flies, we are happy for the level of all partecipants. We recived flies from all the world (USA, Australia, Russia, Argentina, and all Europe), and was really amazing to see people like AK Best, Al Caucci (or all the other jurors) who spent their entire life in fly fishing, during the meeting we had, to decide a common line for judging the flies. We started in the morning at 8 and finished at 23 pm!!! I really don't know at the moment if we'll find resouces for wto3, but I promise you that if in 2009 we'll decide to do it you'll be the first forum informed of it. many thanks to all partecipants, Federico
  6. Hi all, many thanks for sending flies and good luck for the contest. As written by someone Dave Klausmeyer made me a little (big) surprise: he will pubblish the flies of winners if the authors are readers of Fly Tyer magazine, it'a a great new for the winners. I will give notices about winnwers also on this site, if the web master agree I can send him photos of the flies in the first 3 places of each category for this wanderful site. see you... Federico.
  7. Sorry if I'm not so present on the forum as I wish..... I'll try to answer to all the questions: Is the deadline date of July 31st for the postmark on the package or the date that it must arrive by? Flies must arrive on July 31st. (or some days after) In the Open class, I can ty any fly I wish???? And still get all the autographs?????? Yes!!!! (Italians are good fellows isn't it?) I did not see a requirement to include the recipe of the fly(s) submitted. Is it required? Yes it's reqired. Also, will the winners be posted on the website? Yes the winners will be posted on our website and on other website around the world, they will be pubblished on three Italian fly magazine and on US magazine "fly tying", and on UK magazine "fly fishing and fly tying". Federico
  8. Steelie: Tie your fly in the dimension more confortable for you (8-12 cm?), Sardina's dimenions are so various! Oldfart: In our website there is a section in english, just click on the UK flag. You can also visit the web site of Hans Van klinken wich has a section dedicated to WTO and has all the rules in english. http://www.ffinternet.com/html/hotnews2.htm Federico
  9. I forgot to mention that each partecipant will recive a diploma signed by all the jury, I think it's a nice gift, and for reciving it you have just to send one fly! The winners of each category will recive a gold medal. Federico.
  10. Hi steelie, Sardina pattern is fishable. Federico.
