  1. why not fish that as a fly?....the only rules in fly tying and fishing are the ones you create....
  2. So I'm going to Cape Cod this coming weekend for the first time to chase some stripers. My understanding is that they eat a ton of little sand eels at this time. This is my collection thus far. I came up with a squid pattern as well to try out. Let me know if I'm missing anything..Thanks...
  3. thanks Will for the contest once again...congrats to all who participated and took places...Thanks to everyone that voted for my flies...tight lines

  5. a new bass streamer I have been using....combo of wool, rabbit strips and marabou....lots of water push, lots of movement...
  6. very nice popper...now we just need the waters to warm a bit so you can get slammed by a monster bucket...

  10. thanks Greg...I had a duh moment and didn't recognize the user name...The fly sinks slow...It has a large size lead dumbell....Full testing on fish will begin in one month or so....
  11. thank you....Fly Samurai...you were able to put one in the water? ...due tell
  12. thanks all....needed to get my warm water boxes started....
  13. thanks guys...much appreciated....despite the 10 inches of fresh snow I still have warm water on the brain...
  14. This is an all wool bodied weighted bluegill with a Fly Lipp upside down on it. When casted out, it sinks, then when stripped it actually rises wiggling towards the surface....Should smack some buckets this spring....
  15. Been playing around with DNA Fibers and Brushable Clear Cure Goo....Very cool stuff....
  16. I'm missing one Will...The creative category...
  17. nice work man....bass catching goodness for sure
  18. Thanks all...They ae tied on a 2/0 Mustad 34011...overall they are about 4 1/2 to 5 inches long...
  19. These are a bucktail/hackle feather pattern that I have used for sometime with great success. They are tied Clouser style with lead eyes, and have hackle feathers in the tail much like a half and half. The bucktail is tied in hollow style to create a little more profile. The Fly Lipp is placed on the opposite side of the eyes so the fly wobbles and rises to the surface when stripped in. Since my smallie flies usually take a beating, the heads are finished with Clear Cure Goo and nail polish. There are closeups on my blog.. www.gotbronze.blogspot.com Enjoy...
  20. Zap a Gap is fine on the eyes I mainly use Mustad 34011 and 34007 stainless hooks 1/0-4/0 Tails can be made from hackle, rabbit strips, marabou.... You can tie a fly on just about any hook.....the gap on surface flies is very important though....You need a large enough gap so you don't miss hookups.... Try jstockard for supplies...
