  1. I can't seem to upload pictures. can anyone help? I don't know if I am using the right format or what?
  2. Here are a couple of pictures of the beat I fish. These were taken in January and as you can see it was very cold! About -4 degrees C. I went on to catch four Kelts that day. Kelts are salmon from the previous year that have spawned and are dropping back down to the sea. Most of them are female as most males die after spawning. We do get a few fresh run spring fish but I have not had one yet. I am working on a couple of fly patterns to show you guys in the states and see if they are similar to patterns you use for salmon over there.
  3. Hello I am a new member from Lancashire in England. I have recently started salmon fishing on the river Eden in Cumbria (the lake district of England). It is a great river for Salmon, Sea trout, Grayling and wild brown trout. Our season here has just started and I am eager for others to send some inspiration my way for new fly patterns that may get me that fish of a lifetime. I am a keen fly tyer and have just finished tying some copper tube flies for my box. I am particularly after a pattern for a scandanavian fly called the "Francis Shrmp" which is a carrot shaped fly with long feelers. Also I am going to try a waking surface fly for grilse and sea trout this year, so any patterns for these would be gratefully recieved. I Also work in a local tackle shop so if I can be of any help to anybody regards tackle or advice do not hesitate to e-mail me!!! Tightlines Phill Heartwell
