  1. Fred H. is there a video or step.by.step of those shrimp? they are great looking
  2. not quite as lucky but a buddy and I lost 4 all boys in the creek on evening and ended up finding them 2 days later in an edie, still nice and cold still!
  3. those look amazing, have you tried and damsel or dragon fly sizes? I would love to get my hands on a set of those wings if you still have any left.
  4. go with some big glad bins, that container thing you posted will be good for holding finished streamers or bass bugs. I use the 50 slot one to hold all my trout flies as i like to tie by the multiple dozens.
  5. so does this have affect on the Mosfet system? I wonder if the hook is close enough to the bead ie, 1/16th so the fish hits both would it be Kosher (sp). I guess in the end its up to the C.O.
  6. If you want some crazy browns, bows, bulls, cutties, brookies, and yummy white fish than Calgary Ab might be your destination! Amazing weather and mountain fishing awaits you. simple trout flies work great aswell as big 6-10" streamers for some 15lb bull trout. Give me a PM if you need local contacts or areas to walk and wade.
  7. good thing im well trained in the art of kick ass lol but 8 years of Hapkido do help. Out in BC i have never run into a problem with it, i guess they are all a bit more relaxed in the...medicinal...province. I like it because in BC it is single hook so its a technicality, i have a bead and a red hook that is for all intensive purposes is a SJW. I some times wonder if they would look the other way if it was just a glow bug under? I was talking to some locals who had the same rig as me and later in the parking lot they were scoffing that you should need to be a 3 year local to use beads! And when it all boils down it isnt sand shrimp from a fridge or a bunch of Natives pulling nets down the river worse?
  8. its totally cheating but i like to just peg a beed with a #6 gamu 6" under. works great for me and the rainbows/kelts steels.
  9. what area are these good for? all ocean waters or just areas?
  10. my cat is either on my sholders or on my lap doing the bag sniff for everything.
  11. looks good, might have to make one of their intruder style boxes with some old phone cord
  12. haha, my local shop has bunches of 14 feathers for $70. Im so glad im still sitting on my collection of hackle. Might be worth a few thousand right now.
  13. OH SNAP!! i'll take 2 dozen.
  14. those look great, i use circle hooks om my intruders but i have not used them for nymphs. I think they should work great for caddis, scuds, chromies, blood worms, and obviously EGGS.
  15. its just a pic that i found on the net but no one seams to have them for sale. That vid you posted seams to be every ones go to crab fly. Not to hard to tie
  16. i live way away from any salt water so i just want to bet my salt box filled up for when i go to the Caribbean next Christmas. I have more crazy charlies than you can shake a stick at but my crab selection is only 2 patterns. very true that they are way more craft than fly but for the look of the shell back you cant go wrong. I will probably make different legs for mine.
  17. I was wondering if any of you have seen these pre-fab crab and claws for sale. They look like a gell press or something
  18. sweet, this happened on my last day out and i have not bothered to fix it yet. Thanks for the tip!
  19. i would base it on how many you can tie/hour and what do you think your worth? I like to make $15/hour so if it is simple like a hairs ear then $2/each it good but for something like a stone fly or streamer where there are many different steps or glues that you have to let dry i would go as high as $5. some pike flies go for $7-8 and some for salt water (at least in my local shops)
  20. omg, that is a vague question. What area are you in? Still water or river? my top 5 for this time of year where i am SJW/blood worms small leaches chromies chenille worms hairs ear nymphs
  21. i have the same boat. watchout for the ore stops as mine tend to work their way off during the day and those dont float for too long lol. i put a buddies Torquedo motor on mine and almost got it up on a plane lol
  22. i love to fish the 2wt for 20"ers (when im lucky) with the SAGE click series. It is wonderful on lakes and medium pace rivers
  23. if the wire is coming close to the base for the biots it will push them up aswell. try a dot of crazy glue on a pin and push them down to fix the ones you have already tied.
