  5. i was on here the other day and noticed some different ice patterns that people had on there profiles and was wondering if you guys could post them on here with the instructions or the flie recipe . it would be greatly apprecciated if you could . thanks , jim

  8. hi , i was wondering if anybody could please post on step by step tutorials , on how to tye the krystal bullet ? the only materials on the flie is , krystal flash pulled back bullet style over chenille body . it would be greatly appreciated . thanks , jim

  13. lol , forget to mention that i stopped by and talked to one of the workers and asked if they had any scraps that i could have . by my surprise, he gave me all there scraps they cut from the end of the roll . some were 2' - 4 ' wide and about 50 ' long each . ( 5 scrap rolls in all ) it will last a life time of fly tying . chase creek thanks for the tip on ground cloth for backpacking . bet if i asked them they would cut out a bigger piece if i told them what it was going to be used for. the stuff works great for caddis and stonefly wings . jim

  15. hey guys and gals , the other day i noticed some construction workers were putting up some buildings up by my house and what caught my eye was the home wrap . its made by DUPONT and called TYVEK HOME WRAP . the stuff works great for wing cases and shell back . first thing you do is get a rotorery cutter and memory pad like the quilters use and cut it to the size you need and before you tye it on your hook . color both sides with a permanent marker( black or brown ) let it dry . the stuff is better than flexament treated feathers . before tying it in cut one of the ends to a point so its not to bulky at the tye in point . jim

  17. i bought a coffee grinder 7 years ago and love mine . jeff "bear" andrews came to our flytying club and showed us a little bit of stuff what you can do with it . take aunt lydias yarn ( rug yarn ) and squirrel hide and rabbit . blend them together for what suits you . zwirl zwirl jim
  18. hey swamphunter, i found out are local doctor was retiring in the end of november . so i stopped by and told them i tyed flies and asked if they had any disposable suture kits . when i saw the doctor he asked me who or what am i going to stich up lol . just told him i tied flies and wanted the scissors in them . so he gave me two un opened suture kits . they have : iris scissors , gauze tweezers , iris needle holder ( hemostats ) jim
  19. next time you go to the dentist . ask if they use dental damns on there patients . and if they do. tell them you ties flies and ask if you can have some . they come in -green, charcoal, red , latex . jim
