  16. Hi, Yes this is a varient. I have included the original dressing and the varient in the dressing. Best regards, ~David nice vids David, where in Ayrshire are you from? I grew up in Kilbirnie how;s the fishing over there nowadays? Hi the_scotsman, I'm from Galston in East Ayrshire. The rivers arn't doing much trout wise however there has been many a salmon caught ranging from 5lb to 18lb. I mainly fish the reservoir's and fisheries and there are some belters near-by. Best Regards and Tight lines for this Season, ~David Is that fishery still open near moscow that was next to the clay pidgeons, believe it was a lesbian couple that ran it? can't remeber the name but used to do well down there. best Martyn

  18. i used to tie for a living, but not for a shop, i sold direct to clients and charged plenty, because my flies are good- much better than is generally available in UK shops. i did have customers in Europe Asia and the States too, however i think the standard of store bought fly in the states is probably better than most in the uk which migh make it harder to earn a decent living. doing demonstrations for clubs and guild meetings is also a pretty good cash supplement that leaves no traces
  19. i like them, i use a very light smear if silicone along the first inch or so of the belly of my garfish flies to stop fouling works a treat
  20. blast from the past! this is a variant though right?
  21. Im not Balsa but is suspect two things. 1: To help it sink because it is a "crabkbait". Is what I think. 2: To let the butt sink lower so when he does pull it for the actions maybe you'll get more action because it's has more water pushing on the lip. Then again I don't really know so don't listen to me. possibly to keep it the right way up?
