  1. FishyboY - Right now the thread that I'm using is 3/0. What would you recommend? I have a tendency to wrap the thread around the hook probably too many times when I'm finishing the fly. I'm paranoid about the whole thing unraveling.
  2. Thanks for the kind words and encouragement! D: I'm using a digital Canon PowerShot SX100 IS. It has 8 megapixels and a 10x optical zoom. The key is the superzoom. It's a couple of years old, so there are better models out there now, but it's a great little camera.
  3. Hello All I've been tying flies for a short time and I would love some feedback on my flies. I sort of followed patterns for some, but I mostly just made up what I was doing. I think my flies are larger than they should be, but I've been experimenting to get a feel for the materials. Any thoughts/opinions? Thanks, AC
  4. Thanks for all of the great info!
  5. Hello All Newbie here! I hope this is the right place to ask for fly tying information. I was wondering if anyone could direct me to any sources with information about the history of fly tying. I'm doing research for a presentation, and I've found lots of info on fly fishing but not fly tying. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
