  3. pop-n-bug, my fly is much like the 1 fiytire has shown. But I don't use bright colors, just Peacock Herl & black hackle. That's all you need , & it is deadly
  4. That's a fabulous SBS with some exceptionally clear pictures Bravo
  5. I tie a fly I call a Horsefly & BG/Perch love it, I have caught them up to 12" with this fly. Use a size 14 hook with black thread. Tie on some dumbell eyes. Wrap thread to bend in hook. Tie in 2 strands of Peacock Herl & 1 black hackle feather @ bend in hook. Wrap the 2 strands of Peacock Herl forward to dumbell eyes & hold in place with hackle pliers. Now wrap black hackle feather forward to dumbell eyes, then bring thread forward & tie off Peacock Herl & black hackle feather. Whip-finish & catch BG/Perch all day long they really like the sink rate of this fly & I have used these on floating lines & done very well.
  6. Panfish are like Redfish they will hit Bubblicious on a hook

    Too Funny

Little Johnny strikes again. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The BEST LittleJohnny joke I have ever heard! The kids filed into class Monday morning. They were all very excited.. Their weekend assignment was to sell something, and then give a talk on salesmanship. Little Sally led off. "I sold Girl Scout cookies and I made $30" she said proudly, "My sales approach was to appeal to the customer's civil spirit and I credit that approach for my obvious success." "Very good", said the teacher. Little Debbie was next. "I sold magazines" she said, "I made $45 and I explained to everyone that magazines would keep them up on current events." "Very good, Debbie", said the teacher. Eventually, it was Little Johnny's turn. The teacher held her breath. Little Johnny walked to the front of the classroom and dumped a box full of cash on the teacher's desk. "$2,467", he said. "$2,467!" cried the teacher, "What in the world were you selling?" "Toothbrushes", said Little Johnny. "Toothbrushes", echoed the teacher,"How could you possibly sell enough tooth brushes to make that much money?" "I found the busiest corner in town", said Little Johnny, "I set up a Dip & Chip stand and I gave everybody who walked by a free sample." They all said the same thing, "Hey, this tastes like dog poop!" Then I would say, "It is dogpoop. Wanna buy a toothbrush? I used the President Obama method of giving you some ****, dressing it up so it looks good, telling you it's free and then making you pay to get the bad taste out of your mouth." Little Johnny got five stars for his assignment. Bless his heart.
  8. I guess you didn't finnish reading Haha get another cup of coffee Already looked @ their site & didn't see any inserts, not looking for new box
  9. I appreciate all the answer's. I have all my flies in a 1" flat box I found, I sprayed the inside w/3M adhesive & foam craft sheets fit in it perfectly, the biggest problem with it is that the foam tears to easily when you remove or return the flies. & I can't seem to find replacement inserts, I know Flambeau has Fly Lockers that are very similiar to what I've made but don't seem to sell replacement inserts, anyone know a supplier of Fly Locker inserts?
  10. EXACTLY what I was typing as a response until I looked up & saw yours LOL I have wanted a roll-top for a long time. Let us know how you like it.
  11. Those flies are very common here in Central Texas. I really like your rendition & have always wanted to tie some, I Believe now is the time. Thanks for the inspiration
  12. What do you prefer when it comes to your fly boxes? Large? Small? Plastic? Aluminun? Magnetic? Waterproof? Slit-foam? Ripple foam? Center-leaf? Nubies? Compartments? Wallets? Don't flies get stuck in the felt? & any other's that you may have tried or come up with? I have made my own but the foam seems to rip to easily. Please help
  13. I'm speechless, I too wonder "where's the eye?"
  14. Today, they were treating me & my fly as part of the "Pecking Order" if you will. So 1 snip, off comes the fly (size 14),,,, Out comes the same fly (size 18) & BINGO. Sometimes while On Da Water, 1 must try to out smart the fish
  15. Thank you for sharing that. Thank you Ted for your Service .A True American Hero. God Bless You Sir!
  16. Well flies usually have legs as long as they don't land on anything sticky, like fly paper. Sometimes when they encounter an angry human with with a swatter, they will just escape being completely swatted, however they may lose a leg or 2, it does make for some difficult take-offs & landings thereafter though, but they manage. I suggest you use flies for fly fishing even if they don't have all their legs, some, part or none at all. As I discovered over the years fish are really not into legs, they much more prefer a full body. Hope this helps in some small way
  17. I would not trade Cali for Alabama, but if I had no other choice well then I guess I'd move to Florida
  18. Observation & Statement: For some the mere artistic value of a fly is not enough! The ability to transfer from the Mind's-eye to the extremely crafty hand's is un-surpassed. Evidence speaks for itself. & yet words can't descirbe
  19. When's the Garage Sale lol & what pattern caught that mounted LMB?
  20. I find it vey hard to believe those are some of your 1st ties, as they put my ties to shame Lol
