  1. So the doctor asks him if he's been doing anything different or unusual. He says nope.not really.Just watching porn and eating cheetos.
  2. I finally found a pack of 10 double edge razor blades at a grocery store for 3 bucks. They are kroger brand.
  3. Hey Hammer, another great vid as usual.Ive been meanin to get around to tellin you how much I appreciate the time and effort you put into these.I have watched pretty much all of them and just wanted to say thanks.I look forward to seein every one.
  4. Glass beads from the craft stores have worked well for me on BG flies without dropping too fast.A little wire can help balance the fly and toughen up the body also.
  5. You know that little moment in time when you feel that little shock runnin down the rod when your hook encounters somethin solid?Thats not it.Its that little moment right after that when you realize its not a stump or a rock, whether its that explosive surge or that slow movement of somethin that doesent know its hooked or that first head shake when it realizes its hooked.Thats the thing that will make me go back time and again and replays in my head even when Im sleepin.
  6. This is a nasty lookin bug(compliment of the highest order)The enlarged photo made me want to bite the screen.!I dont know how a fish would resist smashin this thing.
  7. I have some 3D fabric paint from a craft store that might be cool to experiment with.It dries water proof and it can be built up in layers.(takes along while to harden)Ihave used it for eyes on poppers and have textured some popper bodies and its pretty durable,a coat of sallys clear nail polish(or 3)holds up really good after it hardens.Might be worth tryin.
  8. Im thinkin any one that catches carp on a fly should be eligible for pro status. I know that when Fish Shaman raises his wand every carp in the vicinity disappears.(poof)
  9. Ya mean to tell me my cousins are datin somebody else?!I didnt even know they were married!Ya caint trust em, ya caint love em!
  10. Hi FB,Funds mostly. The 25 horse on my16 ft jon boat is down and both my batteries need replacing. This boat is too big to paddle much Also my favorite river is the ogeechee and down here is below the plant that discharges (still bein allowed to by the way)into the river.Last few years have had many fish die(and many other species)and restrictions over eating said fish.Ponds can be tough from the bank and not too many around here.look forward to talkin with ya.
  11. Nose hair?Wow.Im gonna have to rethink how obsessed with fly tyin I could get. I would think even the rabbit would be impressed with the number of shades and variety of textures that were carefully harvested from its face!Just to keep things simple,I was gonna snip a piece of hide from a hares ear and hook it like bait. (maybe not)
  12. Sounds like a lot of good info here, and I wouldnt be much help beyond that.Ive only been fly fishin for about 3 years and if I get 50 feet out with a four weight Im doin good.A decent quality line can help and cleaning a dirty line doesnt hurt.Occasionally the wind dies down and I hear music in my head,I might get 60 feet out.
  13. A little seven dust should take care of dem vegemites for ya.Just kiddin.Just out of curiosity, what kind of critters are imbru and marmites?
  14. This is a neat lookin pattern.I would like to see it move in the water and i would bet that after bein chewed on would just look injured and keep on catchin
  15. Hey FB,I live in Savannah but my fishin is pretty limited due to various circumstances,From the looks of that bass in the picture you could teach me a thing or 2 bout fishin. Was that hog caught on a fly rod?
  16. Oops, forgot,Welcome and good luck fishin and catchin !
  17. My first woolly bugger I ever tied got hung on a stump, stump shook its head and and swam off.I forgot to let line go with my line hand.Stump kept my woolly.
  18. Welcome to the world of fly fishin and this forum.New guy has to make the hush puppies.I will cook the grits.
  19. Hey GBF,the pond in windsor forest is where I caught my first fish on the fly. That pond is very overgrown with weeds in the hot months and difficult to fish with a flyrod when its bloomin. The place is also swarming with small bream in schools all over the place.Have caught bass up to 5 lbs in there. Also caught shellcrackers in there, biggest over a pound.Caught 2 channel cats around 3 lbs each on fly!Sometimes I think taking all the dinks out would be a good thing but I release em anyway. Its not much fun to fly fish there because its really a dog park and you have to look both ways before your backcast.Beware the big white heron as he (she?)will try to take small bream before you can grab em.When I first started I must have sucked pretty bad cause for 2 months I thought there must not be any bluegill in there.Holla back!
  20. GBF,We need to get together and you can show me how bad I can be outfished with a flyrod, shouldnt be hard to do.I went to the lake behind Savannah Mall ealy this morning and got skunked again for a couple of hours.Fish really piss me off when I come away feelin like theyre smarter than I am.I did snag a stump that started to swim off after I tugged on it a few times.Foul hooked a big carp.I know because my fly when I pulled it back had a big thumbnail sized scale on it!At least somethin bent my rod for a second. If you get into some fish ,holler and Ill meet you there.Holler loud cause Im in Windsor Forest.Later on,Tracy.
  21. flpanfisher, nice to hear back from you,my first real fly rod purchase was a7 ft 6 inch 4 wt that is stiff as a broom stick. It was very hard trying to learn to cast that thing. My next rod was a 9 ft 4 weight that I loved the action on.Broke the tip off in a truck door and havent sent it off yet.If you are hand twisting those mono leaders, I have been experimenting for quite a while with these.I have tried micro swivels at the fly line to leader and at the leader to tippet connection(not on the same leader). Those are great when learning to cast for letting twist out of your leader and are great when fighting the rare larger fish I have hooked.Recently made a couple without surgeons knots which tend to pick up weeds like crazy.I used a bobbin and whipped tying thread around the twisted leader where you would tie a knot normally, clip the bobbin loose and do some double half hitches and head cement the thread. It worked!Loops on both ends and no snaggy the weeds.Talk atcha later,Tracy
  22. Hey GBF,Im on the southside but grew up on the eastside around Thunderbolt.I know where Loves is but are you talkin river or pond?used to be Big Johns pond around there but I probably couldnt find it now.I have fished the Ogeechee river from Kings Ferry all the way to Morgans Bridge and up further than highway 80.Not much at all the last few years tho.A few years ago I was catching redbreast up to 12 inches ,some over the pound mark.Only went to the Ogeechee once last year and there was another rash of fish dyin right after. My boat hasnt moved since August of last year.(cryin shame). That was the first time I actually fly fished moving waterand I did catch a few small redbreast and stumpknockers.Almost crapped my pants when a 3 ft gar took a little grub lookin fly dropper hung off a tan foam hopper!I was happy the hook popped out cause I was afraid for my rod.Lookin forward to hearin more from you.
  23. Good to hear from you GBF.From the sound of your screen name we must have some things in common.I absolutely love catchin bluegill etc.... on my 4 wt.Wish I had a lighter rod but that will have to be later.Im lookin forward to hearin more from you even if youre still a lousy bait fisherman on this forum.(I have graduated recently!)All kidding aside, I would like to talk fishin with you.Welcome to the forum.
  24. I appreciate the tips guys.I typically tie off of the bend with an improved clinch knot and most fish are caught on droppers. When I use the popper style(tapered, cupped & slotted that you can reverse on the hook)the poppers tend to ride tail down without a dropper.Has anyone noticed better action or stance attaching at the eye or in front of the eye of the top fly?I have not tried this yet.Maybe I wouldnt tangle any worse than usual.
