  1. For October, those of us in the SMB/LMB tying club are going to be tying Mouse flies. From deer hair to foam and everything in between, the possibilities are endless. Big bass destroy these big flies! All swap rules apply: * Send your flies in a container that is crushproof. Keep in mind that some of these flies may be larger than the ones you send in. Please send an appropriate size container. *Toetag your flies with your screen name and the name of the fly. Also put on there "LMB/SMB Club" because it will help keep these flies separate from any other swaps. * Include a self addressed stamped envelope for the return of your flies. Please do NOT send something that is metered. You must use real stamps or the post office will not accept it. I know, stupid rule on their part, but we have to follow it. * Either post the recipe here or PM it to me. I will, each month, photo each fly and put the recipe with it on this thread. 1) Me - Swapmaster - Morrish Mouse 2) 3) Eugward RECEIVED 4) Eastern fly RECEIVED 5) Joman RECEIVED 6) Rich mc RECEIVED -Forrest

  3. For August, those of us in the SMB/LMB tying club are going to be tying "Wiggle Minnows". Todd's Wiggle Minnow is deadly on Smallies when fished with an intermediate or sink tip line. If you do not wish to tie up one of the Todd's Wiggle Minnows, please just make sure that it has a similar action. Rich brought it to my attention that he plans on tying a minnow for this with a crankbait style lip, which produces a really nice side to side swimming action. All swap rules apply: * Send your flies in a container that is crushproof. Keep in mind that some of these flies may be larger than the ones you send in. 6. For May, those of us in the SMB/LMB tying club are going to be tying Articulated Streamers. Anything goes, but the fly must have some kind of articulation. There are a few ways you can get "articulation" out of a fly, so if you are in doubt that your fly counts, feel free to ask the panel, aka the rest of the people in the club. All swap rules apply: * Send your flies in a container that is crushproof. Keep in mind that some of these flies may be larger than the ones you send in. 9. UPDATE: Last set of flies received on 3/1/2013. Flies are back in the mail to you as of 3/1/2013 @4:00 p.m Central Time. For February, those of us in the SMB/LMB tying club are going to be tying "Anything Clouser". Bob Clouser has concocted many a fly in his day other than just the Clouser Minnow, which by the way is probably the number one producer on my home river. Some ideas for this swap: Obviously, the Clouser Minnow, Clouser Crippled Minnow, Clouser Crayfish, Cloiuser Bright Side Minnow, Clouser Swimming Nymph, Clouser Suspender, Clouser Madtom, Clouser Hellgrammite, Clouser Half and Half, Clouser Floating Minnow, Clouser Drake, Clouser EZ Popper. As you can see, Mr. Clouser has a varied arsenal of flies that he has developed. I look forward to seeing your creations! Remember, February is a short month, so the due date will be approaching quickly! All swap rules apply: * Send your flies in a container that is crushproof. Keep in mind that some of these flies may be larger than the ones you send in. Please send an appropriate size container. *Toetag your flies with your screen name and the name of the fly. 19. http://riverroadcreations.com/GaryKrebPopperJigs.htm I have this kit from River Road Creations. They are a little pricy ($40), but the jigs allow you to make perfect popper heads every time! -Forrest
  20. 5 is good with me too. That is what I was hoping everyone would say I will update the thread for the January swap that everyone is to tie 5 and will not get one of their own back.
  21. Everyone will send in 5. You will not get one of your own back. Unless, the group, as a whole, wants to send in 10 then everyone gets two of each fly back. What do you all want to do as a group? -Forrest
  22. @rich mc..... You are only a few miles away from me. My wife and I just built a new house in Oswego IL. I think you are probably less than a half hour from me. You could feel free to drop off your flies/hit the Fox when it gets a little warmer. I live one mile from the river
  23. Old school! I will probably tie the classic streamer the "Red and White". Some of the old buck tail streamers would be good too. For this month, you could tie any fly that has stood the test of time. Any "oldie but goodie". It really is quite a "loose" category.... I figure part of the fun of this swap club will be trying new things and maybe rediscovering some of the old timer flies/styles. -Forrest
