Those cats are adorable. I want to caption them so badly, but, I'm at work

Gorgeous sunset photo! The lighting in the background and the contrast in the foreground is amazing. This is one that should be framed

Good evening, As a pet lover/photographer/lolcat lover, I have taken dozens of photos of my two cats Menew and Pixy. And so, I was wondering if anyone else had pictures of their pets. This is my youngest cat, Pixy. I discovered her one night abandoned, took her home, and adopted her. This photo was touched up a little in my handy dandy Photoshop. And this is my oldest cat Menew. My father gave her to me when I was 12, and she has been there for me through tough times, always wanting to be loved on-oh who am I kidding....all she wants is food and water... So, let see some pets!

New to Fly-Fishing, Not New to Fishing
WatercoloredDreams replied to WatercoloredDreams's topic in Introduce Yourself
Thanks for the warm welcome yall! Unfortunately, thanks to a pulled muscle in my back (and 750mg of muscle relaxers), I was unable to get fishing in time. In other words, I was pretty well effected by the medications, and was up for an early 11am. The girlfriend has shown a nice interest in tying with me, and I am getting ready to get my vise and other items. I am fairly excited; my father is taking the effort to teach me to handle his 21ft center console boat, meaning trips to the barrier islands to fish reds, jacks, sharks, and hopefully no more seagulls XD. Thank you all very much! -
Well, I didn't see this here when I first joined today, so, figure better late than never! My name's Dustin, age 20, and I live in Houma, Louisiana. I've been fishing south of the city for my entire life, and I am just recently getting back into fishing after a period of hardship in my life. My mom just recently beat two forms of cancer, my father (a great fisherman) and I haven't been speaking much, and I have gone from unemployed to working at a big oil company. So, I'm now trying something new; fly-fishing. I've an old 14ft v-hull with a 40 Johnson that needs some work (power tilt on the engine doesn't work, motor won't charge the battery, rotten wood floor), so for now, I'm a bayou side fisherman. I'm actually going out tomorrow to the Isle de Jean Charles in Pointe Aux Chiens to see if I can nab a red or two. Might even try the fly rod and a streamer type fly I bought from Cabelas. Anyway, I'm here to learn a new hobby, make friends, and have fun. Me and my girlfriend love crafts (me photography/video editing and her knitting and crocheting) so fly tying might be a fun way for us to bond. Have you had any results yet on either fly? I'm curious as to how that shrimp one appeals to our scaly friends

Thanks! I'll check that book out. Now, hate to ask, but where can I find techniques for fishing each fly? -

Thanks alot good sir! I shall cruise around the salt water forum a bit more, and do a bit more homework. Again, thank you! -
Good morning all! I am going to be honest as can be; I am completely new to fly fishing. I have just bought my first rod and reel, and I am going to begin teaching myself the basics. However, what drew me into trying the style of fishing was the fact you can make your own baits, and me being an arts and crafts junkie, it appealed to me. I love salt water fishing; red fish and speckled trout (or spotted sea trout; we dont call them that here in Louisiana) and lady fish and black drum, these species are so much fun to catch on conventional tackle, I can just imagine how they are on fly! Anyway, I am curious as to everything I will need to begin learning to tie flies. I really dont know what patterns appeal to my target fish (I am assuming shrimp, crab, and mullet/minnow will be best), what tools I will need to get started, or what literature I should get my hands on. I do appologise for my inexperience and if I am asking a little to much. I just want to learn as much as I can. Thank you and Good Fishing, WatercoloredDreams
