This would be a print interview shoebop. I usually post the interview with photos. -

Haha, I like the Uncle Ken idea! Al and Gretchen Beatty would make a good one. Keep'em coming all! -
So the title pretty much says it all. I usually interview a specific fly tyer every month on FrankenFly. I'm looking for suggestions on who the next one might be. They don't need to be famous or a well known name or anything, so keep that in mind. I really appreicate you guys helping me with this. Tyers I've interviewed so far are: Brian Wise Thomas Harvey Charlie Craven Nick Granato J&M Flies

Here is an old Michigan pattern that resembles a worm and all you do is spin deer hair and then trim it. http://www.michigan-sportsman.com/mscms/fishing-articles/wakelys-yellow-bug-fly-pattern/ If you don't have yellow deer hair, just do it anyway, no big deal and it helps you learn. Here is a photo of mine:

Anyone ty a patern that looks like a Crappie
novabass replied to bowmike's topic in The Fly Tying Bench
For a hook you could get a wide gap finesse hook. I usually get Gamakatsu 2/0 or 3/0. Just my 2 cents. -
First honest attempt at spinning deer hair.

I agree with a lot of the comments and Perchjerker was right on with his comments as well. I want to get the packer that flytire posted about. I think it is the best packer out there. Just make sure you have a sturdy enough vise that holds the hook well. I know from experience even by pushing with my fingers to pack the hair, it will knock the hook right out of the vise on a cheap vise. (As I am one that needs a better vise before I get the packer.)
