  1. As much as I hate to say it, I think I'm bowing out too. I'd rather be up there for the big run in the fall. I'm kinda new to the whole fly scene, so I'd rather increase my odds with a lot of fish around. SK <----- Fly Noob!
  2. couldn't....resist....temptation..... http://veepers02.budlight.com/service/Retr...97-B3EE4054966E
  3. Y'know what Redneck. Enjoy what you have going on now. "Real life" doesn't get any easier. You're forced to deal with people like that every day, most likely it's a boss of some sort or capacity. So enjoy your youth while you can! Don't let people like that get to you and your life will be much easier and stress free. Remember only you can truly control your future. ...and I'll get down off my soap box now and day dream about Steelies again... SK
  4. You gotta remember Steve, when we met you guys our blood alcohol was in whole numbers. Kevin most likely doesn't remember meeting anyone and he ain't that bright anyway. Well other than fly fishing.
  5. I dunno about anyone else, but hell Huckleberry, I'm in. I'm up for chasing big fish all over the country!
  6. Doesn't seem to matter what he bought. I only saw one pic of him with a fish, and from what I understand, he scooped that one up with the net... SK
  7. I floated them for a little this past weekend in erie and landed 2 decent steelies and lost a fairly larger one. They seem to work best when the water is up after a rain. I used a purplish one, almost looks like a little redworm. SK
  8. Yeah, I heard you were all heading up, I'll be up there with J. Johnson on Friday and Saturday. I'll show you guys around Crooked, it's my new "home creek" if you will. Loaded with fish and not a lot of traffic. Not sure how it'll be this weekend though. Should have been a fresh run with all the snow run off they've had. I'm sure Kev and I will do a little recon on Friday evening when we get there, just to take a peak and see what's around. SK
  9. Wow, steeldrifter, I completely read that wrong!! I do most of my STEELIE fishing in Erie around Crooked and Raccoon creeks. I like to stay away from the crowds. I also spend a lot of time chucking spoons in the lake at the mouth of Godfrey run. I have a good time in the creek, but the lake is where I love to fish, when they hit those spoons, they have a running start and they're not happy at all! I plan on lake fishing next year with some streamers and such. I watched a guy doing it last year and he was K-I-L-L-I-N-G them! SK
  10. QUOTE (J. Johnson @ Dec 30 2003, 09:27 AM) Nurture this one along fellas he is a newbie. Instill in to him that there is more to fly fishing than a Clouser Minnows. He is a good guy and an ok fisherman, just a little school bus slow. Welcome Chris ! Speaking of little, Kev, when we get to Erie and stop at the BAC, if you want something on a higher shelf, I'll be more than happy to get it for you. ...and uh, Clousers are all I know how to tie... SK
  11. I do most of my Smallie fishing in the Yough around the Smithton area. Although I fish a lot around Parker on the Allegheny. And occasionally fish the Clarion River. But for the most part it's all the Yough. SK
  12. QUOTE (SmallieHunter @ Dec 29 2003, 10:18 PM) Always welcome another real man who chases the bronzeback with the long rod, welcome aboard and hope you come around often Ahh, yes, Mr. Bronzeback. I honed my river skills on these babies! I love 'em. Although Hybrids and Steelies are gaining ground quick! I've only gone after them once or twice with flies and haven't faired real well, but give me some Super Fluke Jrs, and I'll rustle you up some bass! SK
  13. QUOTE (luvinbluegills @ Dec 29 2003, 10:16 PM) Hey SK! I think you are really gonna like this place, glad you made it! (I get into less trouble here!) Bah, you get in less trouble!? I highly doubt that but I guess we'll see.
  14. Hey guys, I'm new to the board and to fly fishing in general. I've caught some smallies and trout on the long rod, but I'm just now getting into tying my own flies. I recoginze some of you from the Fish USA boards and I'm ready to get started on the vice. Well, somewhat... SK
