Just to let you all know, As a Brit I can tell you all that "Fly Fisherman and Fly Tyer" is a very good publication with some great writers such as Oliver Edwards, Charles Jardine etc. When I moved to the states I kept up with my subscription, it costs about $50 a year and well worth it in my opinion, Mike...............

Hi Wahl, I subscribe to Flytyer and have done for some time even when I was living in England. I think its a good magazine and well worth getting. Only a few issues a year so you dont get bored with the style etc. Mike

I have softened skins before by rubbing some lanoline hand cream into the skin after it is dried out with the borax. It takes several times to help soften the skin..............well I guessed that if it worked on the wifes hands then it might work on a skin.................. :headbang: Mike................

Had a similar thing happen with the dog..............my ex wife said one day.......omg theres a creepy crawley on the dog...................close inspection showed it to be a size 18 hatching midge............ :hyst: :hyst: Must of fallen off the tying bench when the dog was asleep by my feet............ Tied my first fly in 1968 and used some feathers from a pillow and some of my mothers wool and thread. It wasnt any pattern but looked ok but a little shabby.......... :hyst: It caught me my first fish on fly........a small salmon parr.............. :yahoo: :yahoo: Mike..................
