  1. Special herb.......Must be hittin up Emeril for some BAM :headbang: :hyst:
  2. Wire, yeah i use it but i only use 11# Surflon and never had a bite off. Just recently however, i've started using Flouro at only 17# with never having a lost fly....Yet. Where i see many people loosing flys/fish is when they try and overpower the fish from inexperience, me included, with at first having a spin fishing mentality fly fishing. Since then i haven't lost one (knock on wood) but as the pike i start catching get bigger, i will confidently use my 11# Surflon, or 30#-50# flouro.
  3. I saw the weather this morning but i thought you guys were going to get a bit more? 3" isn't bad though and it'll be gone by tomorrow.

  6. The FS Cuda does seem bigger than the Jr. but the arm on both is 3/8", and same OAL just under 7" (rotary handle has more bulk making it look longer). Jaws and forcing cone are interchangable and are of no difference.
  7. Yeah, the bearings are different.....Both however of decent quality, it's just that the bearing O.D. is narrowed and i'd say you are looking at a 1/16 ball as apposed to a 3/16. It looks like the same company/brand of bearings though. When they go on mine (accidently of course  ) i'm probably putting in ceramic.
  8. I have both and yes.....The pedestal is a bit more narrow and lighter on the Trekker than on the FS 'Cuda. The only difference after that is plastic knobs, no lock screw to keep it from moving, a narrow clamp handle, and overall diameter of the bearings and housing. Other than that, the jaws are the same, holding power is the same, and the jr can withstand the abuse (hanging on it) from my daughters.
  9. If ya got any sea creatures crawlin' around there.......That may explain it :dunno: :hyst:
  10. GOOOOOOD LOOOOOOORD.........May the wax Gods have mercy on your back!

    Foam Frog

Just tied this up for a LM bass trip on Sunday. It's a carved and rasped foam with deer tail for the legs, which the legs look spread out but when i did the tub test they pulled in nicely......no weed guard though because i forgot  As always criticism welcome
  20. Used to a lot 25-30 years ago and haven't done it in 20 because all the places had been bought and overly developed
  21. I have used this stuff Surflon but the expense of $9.00+ for 5 meters of 11#, lead me to use flouro at a minimum of 17# with decent results but i still do prefer wire.
  22. YOU KNOW YOU ARE LIVING IN 2006 when... 1. You accidentally enter your password on the microwave. 2. You haven't played solitaire with real cards in years. 3. You have a list of 15 phone numbers to reach your family of 3. 4. You e-mail the person who works at the desk next to you. 5. Your reason for not staying in touch with friends and family is that they don't have e-mail addresses. 6. You pull up in your own driveway and use your cell phone to see if anyone is home to help you carry in the groceries. 7. Every commercial on television has a web site at the bottom of the screen. 8 Leaving the house without your cell phone, which you didn't have the first 20 or 30 (or 60) years of your life, is now a cause for panic and you turn around to go and get it. 10. You get up in the morning and go on line before getting your coffee. 11. You start tilting your head sideways to smile. : ) 12. You're reading this and nodding and laughing. 13. Even worse, you know exactly to whom you are going to forward this message. 14. You are too busy to notice there was no #9 on this list. 15. You actually scrolled back up to check that there wasn't a #9 on this list. AND NOW U R LAUGHING at yourself and will soon be typing "LOL" upon forwarding.

    Braided loops ?

I use the Cortland brand for my 6WT and 8WT (different sizes) so far without one problem. I run it up the length of the line (also i have about 2/3's the way) and to not over heat the line i use a heat gun then finish it with a drop of UV Knot Sense at the end. With multiple branch catches  and just recently landing a 20"+ FAT sucker in a swift moving current on a 6WT, i really don't think strength is a problem. :headbang:
