  1. Hey guys wondering if anybody had anymore input on washing, drying, and dyeing mallard feathers? Ive read to was them with dawn dish soap and warm water or they won't take dye well. I was wondering what's the best way to dry and "fluff" them. And dose dyeing with kool-aid work well?

  3. Thanks kirk that makes perfect sence. I have added an anchor to the yak last year, i rigged it up origonaly to achor off the front of the boat, which faced the yak up river. Maybe this spring ill switch it to the back and try the lenght of chain.i suppose i could just achor off the back and fish as well...but theres plenty of ground (and smallies) to cover on the mighty niagra! Thanks guys!
  4. alright boys! im still pretty new to fly fishing and for me in Western New York its steelhead in the fall and winter and smallmouth another time of the year. i fish the Niagara 3-4 times a week, just wondering if anybody out there had some tips for fly fishing 10-15 ft down from a boat (primarily a kayak) in some moving water. i seam to have a problem not getting the fish to bite but not being able to keep the fly line tight enough to set the hook on a quick strike. ADVICE APPRECIATED!
