  1. Lol you should have put it in that forum and tried to pass it off as a genuine tie, fake material list and everything, lol that would have been fun to follow!
  2. Read your topic thought you might have your forums mixed up
  3. Well did a couple quick poppers up with sharpies, got my turner made and did a coat of liquid fusion. The marker bled a tiny bit but nothing major. The coat looks great. Think I'll stick with liquid fusion for now, might not do sharpies though and go back to acrylic paints.
  4. Nice I'll have to pick one of those up... Should be getting my disco ball motor in the mail today and try some liquid fusion once I get a turned put together.
  5. Stippled popper, I might start doing that but I do like the look of the legs coming out of the popper body, I basically ruined two painted poppers last night trying to run a hot bodkin through my popper, made a big mess of things.
  6. Thanks for the replies guys, picked up some liquid fusion yesterday to try..one more question if I may How do I get a hole in my hard foam popper body for legs without ruining my paint job? Should that hole be done before I paint and work around it?
  7. I just started tying poppers and am trying to figure out what the best and easiest option is to protect the paint once finished. I've heard 30 minute expoxy( don't have a turner) Uv resin Salley Hansen Etc. I use acrylic paint on the poppers and At Walmart I see a lot of top coats for acrylic paints but not sure how they will hold up to the abuse of fishing? What are your thoughts and preferences? I'm not against building a turner for epoxy but don't want to do it if there are easier options. I should add that I'm not tying to sell, and my poppers certainly aren't air brushed master pieces. Just looking for a good option
  8. Some sites do free shipping if you order like 25 bucks, I normally wait till I need a few things and then make an order to get stuff shipped for free
  9. Good deal, that barred dun cape looks nice
  10. Can you give any info on your grading system?
  11. Um nice site but how much money are you making off this! Haha just joking, seems like someone feels the need to ask you that in all your posts Now that's out of the way... Awesome site, will definetly spend some time on it.
  12. Quick question, I always see people bring up the whole tax thing when selling on eBay. Wouldn't mowing grass/ shoveling side walks etc. also technicaly require you to pay taxes on that income? If so most have us have probably evaded taxes in our younger years.
  13. Haha poor Jack, to think he went to a fly fishing forum and asked for help identifying fly fishing things. What was he thinking!
  14. Good to know, have had similar issues
  15. How do you like that sheeting for wings?
  16. Some one was doing that, I think it was on this forum but could have been another. I know his chicks were coming along nicely not sure what ever came of it
  17. Great advise, thanks guys. I think I'm going to bag them as suggested by rock worm by feather type and left/ right
  18. I've been trying to familiarize myself with some of the more traditional winging methods. I've been working on mallard quills, hen pheasant wings etc. My question is this, when you have a whole wing set, where do you start when pairing feathers, do you just disassemble the entire wing and then match all the pairs up? Work off the wings as you go? I'm not really sure where to start
  19. Hey if it works Dave why change! I have tied a lot of parachutes with Antron and I can't recall ever being frustrated that my flies wouldn't float right
  20. Skeet did you read the posted article? That sums up your question about grades
