Not always the case mike, that's used more to differentiate wild steelhead from hatchery. -miles

I've had my rubber net for 4 years or so, and I love it. I personally don't notice the additional weight and it also seems to be more durable than some mesh nets. I got mine from cabelas for $30 and it's been awesome. -miles

Good to see you got into a nice one.. I'm still waiting on mine.. In time I'm sure.. I was just out there on Sunday and got skunked.. Mind saying wheat beach?? Ps comike, the red colors and the big kype indicate that it's a male, and because it had a snipped adipose fin, it means it's the faster growing pilot peak strain

Ya, your right not too much there, a few hours east you can catch some goldens though.. If you get the time that's something I'd recommend. (With a little research you can catch them within a real short hike)

Where abouts in California are ya mike? I might know some freshwater spots in the area. -Miles

Ya, I'd say you can go smaller if there are little yellow sallies or little black stones in you waters. they get as small as sz. 16. golden stones skwalas and salmonflys are best tied big, although.

Actually this time of year the fish cruise in 4-6 feet of water not sure exactly why but I think it's something to do with them getting ready to spawn. Most everyone is still in a ladder out there now, but they're using them on or near shore. It's a truly special place that I wish I could visit more often. Definitely worth the trip out there. The fish are just a bonus. -Miles

Which is the best site about fishing?
Istripbuggers replied to w2abdulalim's topic in The Fly Tying Bench
That's some seriously broken English!! But hey he is right it it most popular entertainment over others, haha -
I'm no expert with lake trout, but I can tell you that your using bigger bait fish patterns. Just last week I hooked into a real nice laker (here we call em mackinaw) on an all white clouser sz. 4. When you do hook into one in shallow water get ready for a hell of a fight!!

That's one I'm sure to bring with me as well, especially this time of year, except I tie 'em in 18 and smaller

Right on, thanks for the advice guys. I did see tear mender used, just seemed kinda obscure but I guess he's not the only one. And I figured I could get away with no glue on smaller sizes ( I'm mostly tying on sz. 6 4xl. I'll check out tear mender..

I've been tying up some double bunnys, and I haven't really found a good glue that will attach the two hides, and still have flexibility.. I've looked on YouTube and it seems like there's so many ways to tie this damn fly I'd figure I'd ask you guys. So, what's your preferred glue for a double bunny ( if any ). Thanks in advance -Miles

Awesome work man, I use a lot of chironamids myself, always a solid choice in the winter, but really they're useful year round. My advice would be: on some of the ones with the wire unevenly spaced, you can take your fingernail and space them a little better. Well done!
