to me it sometimes depends on how much room I have left on the shank... there is no golden rule

Everything Ive read says they are designed to be fished with a sinking line and short leader....

Has anyone fished with these before? How effective are they at bringing a streamer down into an effective level? For example, I am looking to fishing things like zoo cougars and other deer hair headed flies. I just don't know if they are heavy enough to actually bring a fly down or if they just aid in sinking a fly that already sinks. Matt

yeah I'm going to have to agree... I find it extremely unlikely that this works better than a standard dry in this color scheme...

So... Here is maybe an odd request.... Ive though about colins for a while but none of the photos ive seen show what im looking for. Could we get someone on here to do a sort of a "photo review" of one collins capes? Like a few from different angles, with the feathers hanging upside down, some feathers bent around something to show webbyness etc. Essentially im asking for photos that you would want as an experienced tyer if you were not able to fondle the saddle yourself.
