  1. would anyone be interested in a farther due date? ill leave this up for a couple more days, but if there is no bites, ill try again another time.
  2. No problem! I know a lot of swaps are happening, so its totally understandable. I will be posting photos after we finish this swap.
  3. I forgot to note that if all flies are turned in early, i will send them back out the next day so I can start doing swaps regularly. Thanks
  4. Hey guys, I figured I would start a swap that will be interesting. This swap will be for flies intended for trout, but from your own recipe. Now if you dont want to pick your own creation, these flies can be variations of other famous flies, they just cannot precisely follow a popular recipe. An example would be an adams with a different color thrown in. Also, since i think its pointless to swap flies that wont ever be fished, try to keep the variations within the spectrum of trout fishing... So no extravagant colors put together like youd see on a pike fly or bass fly. Also, lets keep these a surprise so I dont want to see a picture of the comepleted flies or even the pattern until i get them. Ill take the first 12 to join with im in. Please toe tag all your flies and send them with adequate return postage. DUE DATE WILL BE APRIL 15, 2016 SWAP IS FULL Swapmeister: m_grieb 1. Adam Saarinen-Address sent-received 2. 5. Deerhairdan......Could you please.... please please please.... post a video of you tying these.... I admire how well you can spin deer hair and I need to learn how....
  6. So you would be able to tie large number of the same size of fly with Collins hackle?
  7. deer belly hair is the best for spinning things like bass bugs. large diameter hair
  8. Could anyone comment on the quality of collins saddles? What size they could tie, etc. I realize every one is different. Just want to see past experiences
  9. The leg puller tools are for hard cork or foam poppers. Bob h. Is correct. Tie them in and continue spinning hair
  10. Have any of you guys tried this? does it work equally as well?
  11. Where do you get that sort of eyes from? I'm really interested in these but want to get the right eyes before I start. thanks Matt http://www.flyfishfood.com/2013/10/how-to-make-shrimp-or-crab-mono-eyes.html?m=1 So using this method, how important is the clear cure? if the eye is the size you want after melting, does the glue have any other purpose?
  12. Thanks guys for keeping this thread going! its great! keep them coming! Matt

  14. I do like to use the little plastice drawers.. But ive recently had an idea. For the stuff that doesnt require its natural shape, do you suppose a reusable vacuum bag would be efficient? Store it in a vacuum bag,"re-air" it to use it, and use a luttle hand pump to store again.
  15. Danvise would probably be closest to your price range. And it would work well for you
  16. One thing you might want to use less material. When i tied eggs for the first time i always tried to use too much yarn.. Just my two cents
  17. This thread is awesome! Keep em comin!
