  1. Silver Creek has it pretty much covered. You can also check out the tribs on the Gallatin like Swan and Portal creeks... they don't get too much pressure.
  2. Switch has the right idea. I use a pair almost the same except the have a wire cutter at the bottom to the nose. I like it for cutting large wires, beadalon, ect.
  3. Nice spinners eide I needed to restock some softies. There are some partridge and mountain grouse in there... kinda like the grouse a little more.
  4. Great ties Crackaig! I really like that. Bow River Bugger meet JJ's Special
  5. Just got on @BrookFishingEquipment. Lots of cool stuff now I have to start following!
  6. Depends on how they like to fish. Definitely a good list above. PMD's, Caddis, BWO's Trico's, and Midges are pretty prolific on the Mo. Scuds and sowbugs are a must for nymphing along with insects mentioned. And anything from large to small streamers JJ's Special, Bow River Bugger, Sex Dungeon, also the Bling Minnow is pretty popular there. I would say some Purple Haze, Ray Charles, and Bling Minnows would be a good start
  7. Needing some attractor dries so Im finishing up some purple madam-x's. Also playing around with the good old double bunny.
  8. Thanks Roslen Here is a hares ear variant and thread body that has been pretty good when pmd's are active
  9. Some really good looking flies. I dig the charlies. Here are a few recent ties... couple of streamers soft hackle caddis (these have been awesome this year) and Galloup's Ant Acid
  10. The easiest way to get started nymphing from a boat is to set up and indicator rig. This is where you have and indicator, suspender, bobber, float or whatever else you want to call it attached to your leader (usually 1.5 or 2 times the depth that you want your flies in the water column). Then it is pretty much cast the rig out and dead drift it. I would recommend that you talk to the guides you mentioned or stop in a fly shop but being a tailwater I bet you could do some damage with scuds, midges, and crays all dead drifted under an indicator. There are so many different nymphing techniques and nuances I suggest picking up a book on the subject.
  11. Butt Monkey... I have yet to fish it in this color variant, but it will get a test swim this weekend.
  12. Success yet? I was so excited the first time that it spun for me. But I agree with what was already suggested, don't start with the goal of tying a pattern... try it out first and then cut it off the hook and tie something up.
