  1. Nice...always enjoy seeing your work Steve.
  2. Nice work I will have to tie some.
  3. Thanks Mark & Kimo. Nice general foam attractors Pokey. For Bass I never leave home with out em.
  4. Regarding Royal Coachman. This had my wife and I both chuckling. I imagine fish drool and smack their lips at the mere sight of one.
  5. Nice assortment Denduke I need to try them as a strike indicator like you do. Rich mc have you seen how you can make your own Floating Jigs? This is something I have to try with some of my molds, just need to get some EPB and hooks. Adding legs is a great idea.
  6. It's Grasshopper Season Size: #10 Thanks Dave, yep frog is an easy tie once foam is prepped and Plasti dipped.
  7. Real nice and long enough trip to get acclimated to the surroundings. Did you camp or have lodging?
  8. Thanks PD, Mark & Niveker. The last one has been kitchen sink tested and floats fine. All that's left is the swim test to see how well it wiggles and dives.

    Caption this....

This is a stretch, but if the fly was yawning. it could be a clue while playing charades. Fa-lie moon yawn (Filet Mignon)

  13. This would be an excellent cover pic for a YouTube video.
  14. Specific Gravity of other textile fibers. Just a few comments on textile fibers that work for me. Polyester works great for dubbing. It binds well to itself or when mixed with natural fibers. Aunt Lydia's rug yarn (Polyester) sparkles in the sunlight which I feel makes the fish want to take a closer look. Poly Yarn (Polypropylene) is good for dry fly wings, posts, and has a SG of .90 which makes it light weight and floats. https://www.madriveroutfitters.com/p-534-polypropylene-yarn.aspx As an added bonus neither of the two above materials will hold water. Trilobal Nylons also sparkle in the sunlight and are readily available. 15. The jig you show looks similar to a sparkie. Barlows description: The wide head shape will not let the jig tip to the side when it rests on the bottom. This enables the lure to be used with a slider method as well as regular jigging action.
  16. ๐Ÿ‘ what mold are you using? Do these swim much different than a 90 deg type jig (round head, hot lips or Popeye).
  17. Frog Fly I finally figured out how to make the fly dive and wiggle. A wider lip with an angle from 22 to 45 degrees, and line tie placed further from the nose of the fly causes it to wiggle. Tapering the nose helps some but not as much as mentioned above. I chose an angle of 45 degrees as it seems to be optimum for wiggling, while still able to dive 3 to 10 inches depending on the speed of the retrieve. To make it more of a diving fly is just a matter of decreasing the lip angle closer to 0 degrees. Notes: 1. Angle of the lip is defined with the eye of the hook oriented vertically where 0 degrees is parallel to the hook shank. 2. Lip material changed to 2 thicknesses of a 2 liter soda bottle (PET) as this plastic is much stiffer than the milk bottle (HDPE). The stiffer plastic (PET) prevents the lip angle from changing over time when fishing. 3. Hook: Mustad 9674 #1 5X Long
  18. Real nice.... a great day to remember for sure.
