  17. Thanks for posting, only slightly envious here, maybe a couple more weeks before roads dry out better (don’t like tearing them up, with 4wd) and we have forest access to sites like this gorgeous crick. Did you breakout your Favorite to tease em up?
  18. Small stuff, no sweat. Just great tying for an initial trial...
  19. Very awesome web page, anyone with interest in this incredible piece of river should check it out. Black/blues were productive for us too. The fish have serious shoulders and that little 16 1/4 Bow went almost 3.5 lbs, buddies 25 incher, almost 7 lbs.
  20. I hope you get back there soon and often. Enjoyed your reports while lurking on the forum (medical time off) and responded to Silver Creek’s query on tippet size. Sounds like the 6x spools were baking in sunlight somewhere before you ended up with it. 6x is go to tippet and we hooked 25 and got 15 to the net without any breakages. Smallest was 16 1/4 and my friend netted a 25” Rainbow stuck on #20 midge. So big fish on 6x is workable. Please keep posting your trip details, and fish and fly photos even better. We fished with β€œBorn and Raised” on the San Juan, maybe out of Abe’s at the time. Excellent guides! πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸŽ£πŸŽ£πŸ˜ŽπŸ˜Ž
  21. You got it, once you have the β€œfeel” right on the first three wraps it is really fun to kick these out. The more you do the easier it will be to set slip a bit more towards the hook eye, resulting in a bit smaller head. I struggle with the other end of the wings, tending to overshoot the hook bend, you nailed that.πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸŽ£πŸŽ£πŸ˜ŽπŸ˜Ž
