I went out early yesterday, so early i had to wait for some daylight so i could see my own feet. Caught two nice seatrout (searun brown trout) before sunrise.

    Finally!!!

Congratulations Nice fish, now you don´t have to get out until summer, just sit and think about this one
  4. My camera refused to take a decent picture of this, so i had to scan the fly: Another Marc LeBlanc pattern.

I really like the big yellow one, would be great here in spring as an "Ålekvabbe" (Zoarces viviparus) imitation. If only the weather will behave, so the surfers can´t get out
  6. What a start of the year, nice flies all around January, 8th and 7 pages already !
  7. Thank you, i have a secret crush on the Green Highlander. Not going to try the married wing version yet, maybe one day. More Art in colors to enjoy, keep postin em Thank you, more will come next year. Got a few "projects" in the sketch book.
  8. Another LeBlanc pattern. Added a bit more green heron than the original pattern.

  10. Sounds like you two are up for a good time Can we get a picture of Mike doing a snow angel ?
  11. I haven´t found anything warmer than my old woolly gloves. They have a thin thinsulate lining which helps when it´s windy. Still keeps me warm enough when wet. Hard to find these days, i have been looking for years for a new pair. Last pair i got was in the local supermarket, only £2 for a pair. Guess i should have bought more than one pair.
  12. @troutah, those caddis flies looks great, will have to try those next year.
  13. Beautiful work Eide ! Not the worst way to spend an evening

Ah, i just saw how cold it was in Haparanda, that´s why Didn´t know your seatrout was completely protected, that is good news. You sure need more of them ! The sea is still 7 degrees down here, no chance of ice so far. And i don´t think i´ve ever met a finn here, only danes, swedes and norwegians. And germans of course. Anyway, season starts soon here too, will be nice to get out and catch a few baltic seatrout

Nice trout Adam! I thought everything was frozen up there by now.
  16. What a start of the month, some really lovely flies there I just played with some classic colours and marabou. Not going to fish these, they are going to a friend, then he can try if he wants to.
  17. I haven´t posted a flee in a long time, but that is going to change. At least one per month, that´s my goal. Aldo, a Marc LeBlanc pattern. Should have Golden Retriever hair as wing, but i don´t have a dog. And other peoples dogs, not good approaching them with a pair of scissors. So i used arctic fox dyed ginger instead. Tied on Alec Jackson #1.5. http://flyhooks.org/alec-jackson/2051-spey
  18. Yes, i do the same now. Makes it more easy that way to me
  19. Of course This is how i tie it: Hook: Partridge CS54 #6. Thread: Dark brown UNI 6/0. Shield: Black Krystal Flash. Hackle: Grizzly dyed yellow. Body: SLF #13 - Fiery Claret, spun in a dubbing loop. And a good amount of weight under the hookshank.
  20. Ah, excellent Mike, great for you ! I don´t know many people who have stopped, or even started.
  21. Well done ! Got to ask, do you ever miss it ? I know i would when drinking coffee on fishing trips. No problem if i am a guest somewhere though.
  22. Nice wings ! Looks easier than it is
  23. A "must have" in my flybox for seatrout here (searun brown trout). Works very well when fish are close to shore, feeding on gammarus etc. Original pattern is from the danish flyfisher Henrik Agerskov Jensen. If i remember correct, he used a salmon hook and peacock herl as shield. He wrote an article about the fly long time ago, and since it has been one of my favourites. Yes, it may look like an Aprils Fool thing, and it sure won´t sell in shops, but the trout and i don´t mind.
  24. "Snip" Orange/Black Tiger Zonker https://flytyer.org/eide/pattern/orange-zonker I have to try this, really like the orange and copper colour combination. And i think it will work perfect at my secret spot Lots of nice flies this month !
