  1. I have had great luck with leftover materials and just throwing it all on a hook it looks like a clown most times and a joke fly however days when nothing is working I flick them out and have luck sometimes.....
  2. This summer a friend and I were fishing a stretch of a stream and the Game warden showed up and wanted to check our fishing licenses. The hitch was that we were on the other side of the stream and he wanted us to come to him obviously. We both had up to date license so there was no problem so off we went across the stream. I wasn't paying attention and crossed at a part where the water was moving much faster and slipped on a stone and down I went filling my waders up with water right in front of the game warden..... Gave him a good laugh and a good fishing license to look at...
  3. thats a really creative and cool idea adding hinges and making it a book
  4. I am open to ideas. I was looking at flat file cabinets but were to rich for my blood. The lazy susan idea is appealing if I made it 2x2x8 or something like that as the 1x1 wouldn't work as effective. My basement is an open slate. Looking at getting two pre made kitchen counter tops one 12ft and one 6-8 mitered to meet each other in one of the corners and make one side a fly tying /leader tying bench throw my computer in the middle and other side work space.
  5. I have lost my man cave and have been delegated to the basement. Have any of you built a freestanding peg board rack and used it for organizing your material? I I was toying with doing it as all of my materials since the move are in empty cases of beer.... I was going to buy one sheet 4ft x 8ft and do it one sided. Did it work for you, what did you like, what didn't you like, what would you do different? Any other ideas that are relatively cheap? Thanks for the help!
  6. I just ordered the Angel dubbing in rainbow I will see what it looks like when it comes in. Thanks for the help!
  7. Take a peak at flymen fishing. They have an awesome pattern for crayfish and isn't a time consuming tie. http://flymenfishingcompany.org/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/Tying-Instructions_Skull-Daddy-Crayfish_FINAL.pdf
  8. I did google it before I put it up on the forum and some were close but didn't have the flash that this one has. Thanks for all of the input so far!
  9. Hey Gang I stumbled upon this fly and really like the color of the dubbing that was used for the body. I know the pink part just can't find anything on the crazy flash colors. I tried searching online and couldn't find much. I like the crazy flash and colors all mixed in any help would be greatly appreciated! http://www.bigyflyco.com/rainbownymph-detail.htm
  10. Milkweed streamer has been my go to streamer this summer/fall
  11. I have seen the first fish i the first three photo's. We have one of them swimming around crazy looking. It came from the hatchery that way. Im interested in hearing whats the deal with him as well.
  12. If I kept an inventory on an excel file and my wife found it I would be a dead man way to many materials!
  13. Hey Gang I'm one of the new guys that have joined your ranks. Like mentioned I am from NJ I can promise you I don't fist pump, tan, or GTL (sorry I hear all about that TV show Jersey Shore). I mainly fish for trout at the Ken Lockwood gorge and the big flat brook on a private water stretch. I am a novice tyre lurking on the forum to learn as much as I can about patterns and techniques. Hope to hear from you all! Bill
