  1. I don't think it matters much to me either, but, I can tell you that you'll probably appreciate the single foots better when your fishing in really cold weather. Then, you normally don't have to worry about ice in the guides. Just have to worry about the reel freezing up. Its some fun when you hook a good sized fish and have to dip the reel under water to keep the fish from breaking off.

  2. Hi Guys, I'm Roy Richardson from Albuquerque, New Mexico, I have been tying flies since 1980, but I got away from flyfishing and flytying for a good while and now I'm back. I use Royal Renegade as a name because it is a pattern I have popularized. It was featured in the Fly Tyer Quarterly Magazine in the mid 80's and published twice in a column called Fly Ideas in Western Outdoors magazine (I lived in California then). My interests are flyfishing of course and flytying. I also like to go steelheading when I can get back to the west coast,

I am sort of set in my ways about using all natural materials, but I'm coming around to the synthetic stuff we're adding to flies nowadays. I fish the Pecos River in north central New Mexico and the waters a bit west of that in the Jemez (pronounced Hay-mez) mountains. Lots of small stream fishing in the Jemez and the Pecos watershed has mediun and small streams. Anyway, I'm glad to be in the forum to talk fly tying and flyfishing again.
