Shoe I also tie mine with both wings spent but Dornug that is very interesting about the one wing up and one wing down. I think I will tye some like that. I also tie in some glo in the dark flasabou in mine. I tie my wings spent and the post in some of that flasabou and then wrap my hackle. You hit that baby with light every few minutes and you can see that baby for quite aways away. I have not found it to bother the fish either. It is easier to do it larger flies but I suppose that if a fella was to take his time he could get a smaller size to work pretty good. Good luck.
