So far I have a 3 weight, two 5 weights, and a 7 weight all are l.l. Bean(which I think are the best rods for the money)except for one write and McGill and I've recently gotten into freshwater and saltwater striper fishing, huge bass, and bluefish, flounder, redfish, and big sea trout and all I have used I'd my seven weight but I'm starting to get into some big fish(30+ pounds) and was wondering if I'm a little under gunned and what weight you guys would suggest

How to fly fish for trout in a lake
Redneckr3bel replied to Redneckr3bel's topic in Fly Fishing Gear & Techniques
The maximum depth of lake moomaw is 152 ft..... And sure ill use my fly I've already caught trout on it just never in a lake -
Hey I'm goin on a long trip to lake moomaw in va and its loaded with huge rainbows and browns. The only problem is I've never fished for trout in a lake. I don't have any more sinking line on my trout rods and only have floating, will this be ok. What flies do I use, how do I present them, how long of a leader should I use and just other tips

I love how durable foam is and there is a big caddis and stonefly hatch goin on right now. I have lots of foam and I was wondering if u guys have any stonefly and caddis flies that include foam

It's a marabou tail with a chenille body with bead chain eyes, rubber legs, and another ploom of marabou tied in behind the eyes with chenille wrapt in front of that. Fish it with medium-fast strips with a 5 second pause and its deadly
