  7. I want to say welcome and I am jealous. I can't even see retirement at the end of my tunnel. Hell, I can't even see the tunnel yet. Enjoy it you lucky dog.
  8. Just want to say welcome. I can't believe you were out of the scene for so long. I have been fly fishing for about 5 yrs. now and can't imagine me taking a break. But I am sure you had a good reason and it is sooooo nice to see you got back into it. Have fun and welcome.
  9. Welcome to the site. It is nice to tie your own flies and save some money. It is more expensive at first, buying materials. Soon enough, you will be stock piled and it gets cheaper. Good luck and enjoy it.

  11. Welcome to the site and you lucky dog for living in Montana and working in a school district. Do you get summertime off?
  12. I also fish Pa. Whereabouts do you handle business? Welcome aboard.
  13. Welcome to the site. Starting out for trout, I would suggest a 3/4 wt. and length will be the size streams you have. I have never caught a gar; that is one that has eluded me so far. Have fun and enjoy.

    I'm Back!

What a way to come back (Will and broken ankles). I have missed the postings and reading. I am sorry for being out so long, but I am back briefly. Since I stopped working for the year (I am a teacher); I have been doing so much stuff around the house; stuff that I had been neglecting. If I wasn't catching up, I was entertaining my daughter. She turns 1 today and I feel that it is fitting for me to get back into the flow of things. Boy did I miss alot of discussions and posts. I hate to say, but I am off to Montana, Idaho, Wyo. and Yellowstone to trout fish for 16 days. I leave Mon. and will return around Aug. 11. So I will be out again and back again. I will try to catch up on some things before I go in between packing. Will I hope you get better. Back and happy!
  15. I am so sorry to hear about the ankles Will. I am wishing for a full recovery. Do what the doc says so it heals correctly and you will be able to get back out there wading and fishing. Stock up the steelhead box; I know I am starting. Need anything, don't hesitate. Sorry I have been MIA over the last two months (lot of things going on), but I am back. Get well soon little buddy!
  16. What a wide range of jobs here and very interesting. I am a high school math teacher (algebra, algebra 2, geometry, trigonometry, calculus and statistics). Those are the courses I am certified to teach. There are close to 1800 students at my school. I have been teaching for 7 yrs. and just got my masters in education. I usually get a statement or a question when people find out what I do: 1 - Math was my worst subject! 2 - What are the girls like? The tough part of my job is I have to much time off (weekends, evenings, holidays). Oh and how could I forget, MY SUMMERS
  17. I have a Loomis reel and the shine doesn't seem to affect the fishing as much as you or I might have thought. Hope this helps and good luck shopping (you lucky guy).
  18. I got a Ross Cimarron last year for my 3wt. and I love it. I loved it so much that I got a Ross Rhythm for my 5 wt. about a month ago and boy is it nice. I am very impressed with the Ross line of reels. I am sold
  19. Some sweet pics. I was jealous just looking at them. I get to look at the dirty Allegheny river (near the city of Pittsburgh PA.). I am lucky to drive over it everyday on my way to work. Enjoy what you have.
  20. I have fished central pa. a few times myself. Those being Fishing ck, Spring ck, Penns ck, Yellow ck, Yellow Breeches, Letort, Falling Spring and Clarke's ck. I do have a good friend who guides out that way and could offer some assistance. Let me know when you folks plan on going; I may join in.
  21. Welcome CB, glad you are able to join this bunch of fun guys and gals. You have found a second home here. I was twisted when I first joined and saw "bait fisherman". Not that there is anything wrong with it, I still do it, but fly fishing has my interest for now (only been doing it for about 5 yrs.). So sit back and enjoy.
  22. Welcome to a place where you will have fun and truly enjoy yourself. Glad you could join us.
  23. Welcome FFC, hope your time here is fun. This is a great place.

    Indicators

Shoe, I am glad you like my explanation. I bet they might still use them after the cameras are off; probably habit.
  25. Welcome to the site. You and Will will become great friends. I'm sure of it I do like smallmouth fishing, but my first love is steelhead and trout; then smallies come in close third. Have fun with the site and the people that hang out here.
