That helped a lot thanks. If I figure correctly 1ft of 0.030 would weigh about 0.5g. So it would take about 7ft to equal 1/8 oz. I tried a scale and 6" was < 1g

Is there a reference for how much lead wire weighs? Regulation says no more then 1/8 oz can be added to fly. Trying to figure out what length of 0.030 wire that would be equal to. Getting ready to fish Salmon river NY end of March

Wow that is a great fly Kevin I love it. Do you have a recipe for it I would love to tie a few. Just getting started with articulated but I know they will become a favorite. Got my 1st few done and had a quation on adding eyes. Reverse tied craft fur for head and then added eyes but having good a hard time controlling fur. Would I be better off shaping head 1st with UV and then adding eyes? What do you guys do? New type fly to me so I am open to suggestion.

Since this is the beginning for my journey with this type of fly the bait fish box was great choice. Lots of different flash which I think could be used for any type fish. A couple of different types of Congo hair which I am learning a lot with. Colors were what I would describe as bait fish. Equal amount of flash and hair. There was also a bunch of dubbing which I will need to learn what to do with. What I have read is pike like bright colors and most of the stuff in this box I would not call that

Got it today lots of Congo hair and flash material. I will be tying flys for bass all winter with this supply don't think there are any colors I would not use. Very happy with FTD

Sportsman guild has nock off cliff beast box for 18$ at this time. They are great boxs for big flys have a few I have picked up as low as 15$ hard to beat at that price. Look around there are deals to be had

I jump in on this one. Had planed to learn this new style to me this winter so this will be a good start. Have material on the way but still need to get hooks. Any suggestions on good sites to vist or hook recomidation? I am sure I will have a few questions along the way but as always I know we're to go.
