  1. I dig worm patterns, thanks for sharing! I'd be curious to know how those move in the water, they seem a bit stiff, but I've had lots of luck with stick baits in my spin fishing days, so they could be killer. In regards to your bohemian chenille post, I found a variety pack of it about this time last year on etsy.com great movement from that stuff.
  2. Lots of tying this January, but I haven't gotten around to posting many. Great work this month by all!!!
  3. I heard it was divine intervention from the patron saint of Minnesota.
  4. I believe Jeff Creamer (forum name TheCream) won or at least placed in the contest.
  5. I've had trouble with lighters darkening the powder coat.
  6. Great tie Scott! I love that chenille, do you know the brand or style off the top of your head?
  7. I've long been temped to buy a RiteBobbin, thanks for sharing your review! My mainstay has been the Umpqua Ergonomic bobbins, simple and they fit my hands perfect, but they have a tenancy to do the dreaded bobbin squeak. Now it doesn't bother me much, but my significant other can't stand the sound. She likes to hang out in the office and work on her stuff while I tie. One night she had enough of the squeak and said "What can I buy you to make that not happen!?". I showed her the C&F bobbins and one showed up in the mail two days later! Excellent tension and thread flows like dream! ...On another note does anyone know how to make a vise squeak? I've got my eyes on a Renzetti Master!
  8. Bream, Is 1/16th a good size? I see its at the top end of your range. I could definitely size them down to something more universal. I have to buy more hooks either way.
  9. I'm in. Just tied these up yesterday for a buddy. The big ones are kind of a complex twist bugger on a 1/16th jig hook. I think I'll do those in the grey and pink.
  10. Fishing Bob Nelson, I received your swap box. Beautiful flies on beautiful hooks! Sorry for the delayed response, took a bit of a technology hiatus over the holidays. Great swap as always! Thanks again for putting this all together, Vic!
  11. My money is on Hazathor, king of Craymen, probably some GMO Iowa cornsilk:) Haha! Not my tie. Funny though, GMO cornsilk is the best cornsilk!
  12. I have a bunch of pickles that are ready for the holidays. Bloody's are on the menu for Christmas brunch and for bowl games on New Years morning. Wishing you all a safe and relaxing Christmas!
  13. The first recipe is a great base. I go heavy on the Worcestershire. Hot sauce of your choosing to taste. But my favorite Bloody Mary garnish is horseradish pickles, I make them using a recipe pretty much identical to this one.
  14. Wow... thanks for sharing the step-by-step. I've put this one on my tying list.

  16. Beautiful work everyone! Thanks for posting photos!
  17. Post office said they'd be there by the weekend, but tracking says they should be arriving today. Sorry for the delay.
  18. Ambergris Caye is beautiful! I was there fifteen years ago before I really got into fly fishing. I'm glad to hear its still a great destination. I think I've got the lady convinced to take a trip I just need to figure out how much fishing time I can squeeze in. Thanks for sharing your review.
  19. +1 Gunnar's videos on articulated streamer design have been truly helpful. He goes into great detain about how hook size difference and head design produce different actions out of your flies. If you haven't found yourself falling down the rabbit hole of his video feed... do it!
  20. I'll give a thumbs up to mvendons link. Every feather I've gotten from the Nature's Spirit Premium line has been fantastic! ...though I've not gotten partridge from them.
  21. The hairline packs of partridge are sold by many online retailers for a little over $3. Those packs look like someone grabbed a handful of partridge and stuffed it in a bag. there's a lot of chaff and junk feathers, but there is also a great quantity of quality feathers in that bag too! I have a bag of the natural and there is a range of natural feathers present, most in the typical white speckled coloration, but also some in a more brown to tan color as well.
  22. I got a good chuckle out of that.
