  1. What did you use for the body on your pattern? I believe mandog used ep fibers
  2. It's just red sharpie. I saw someone else do it and thought it had a neat look to it.
  3. I'll be taking a work trip to Tampa next week and scheduled my arrival flight to allow for some fishing--- err I mean meeting prep. I know there are a number of folks on here from that general area. Any tips for fly fishing? It'll be in the evenings (and nights, potentially) and I won't have a boat. Areas, patterns, etc would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
  4. Here are the crabs. A good looking bunch from everyone. The photos are from my phone and don't do the flies justice. They're going to the post office tomorrow, so everyone except Lil'Dave should have theirs in time for some weekend fishing. 5. Alright guys- all the crabs are in. I'll take photos tonight and get them in the mail hopefully tomorrow, schedule permitting.
  6. Waiting on the last package to arrive, then I'll take photos and mail them out. I'm out of town this weekend, so I won't get them in the mail until Monday or so. Thanks!
  7. Joseph's came in the mail today-- good looking crabs!
  8. I wonder how much shampoo you need to wash that truck?
  9. Yeah I don't see why not
  10. I second that. I bought a bunch of flies from him, they were all really nice, and it all goes to a great cause!
  11. I just used the cheap pine at Home Depot.
  12. I thought about putting them at an angle, but I decided against it (laziness, I suppose). No issues what-so-ever with them trying to work their way off the pegs. I'd imagine that if I had cut the pegs at 3" or so, I'd have issues, but nothing at 4".
  13. No worries guys-- few days late's no big deal.
  14. Supplies: 2 1x4 @ 4' long 2 1/2" wooden dowels @ 4' long 1/2" paddle bit Drill press or drill (I used a drill press w/ a fence) Steps: 1. Clamp the 1x4s together so all of your holes line up. 2. Find the middle of your 1x4. Make the first mark 2" from the end, then a mark every 4" after. You should end up with 12 holes in each board. 3. Drill your 12 holes. 4. Cut 24 4" pieces of the wooden dowel. I just 11 of each exactly at 4", and the final piece was a little short. 5. Sand the ends of the wooden dowels 5. Press the wooden dowels in the holes. Mine were a tight fit so I didn't use glue, but you can use glue if you want. Notes: For my smaller reels, the 4" spacing is going to work nicely, but for my larger reels you'll likely want a 5" spacing. I have supplies to make another one, so the next one I'll be using 5" to store my larger fly rods/reels and offshore gear. Pictures:
  15. I had some time tonight to build the rod rack that I referenced in Flats post-- I posted a step by step in the lodge.
  16. I got mine in the mail today since i'm just up the road- all I can say is I have a loooooooong way to go to get even close to y'alls level. The density on a couple of these is astounding! How are yall getting the density? Any advice to take back to the vise?
  17. Dorado and Islander, both of your flies came in today. Nice job fellas!
  18. Quick detour for Mandog-- Caught on a white gurgler on a 7wt fiberglass. Back to our regularly scheduled swapping
  19. I got mandogs and Agn's crabs today. These are some really good looking flies! Did you guys know y'all are practically neighbors?
