  1. Cold - It's ZAP CA Thin Mikechell - Yeah, the Fly Enhancer Legs are kind of a pain, the Sili Legs are longer and much easier to pick out. Going to have to try your method. Thanks
  2. Like all good permit flies, the Keel Crab is heavy and will bolt right to the bottom when presented in front of a hungry fish. The brass beads on the keel not only add weight to the fly, but also make the fly sink straighter and allow the crab to sit in an aggressive position. We prefer to tie in the body underneath (between the shank and hook gap) so when a permit looks down at the fly he sees nothing but crab shell. 3. Quick and easy, the Wiredipity produces in trout streams everywhere. The black/red makes for a fly that trout don't see every day, and they seem to like it. The tungsten bead makes the fly sink quickly when it's drifted, which is what shop owner Darren attributes much of its success to. This fly is ideal for the seasoned trout angler looking to bang out a batch of flies for the season, as well as for the saltwater angler going to try his hand at trout fishing. 4. Here's our twist on one of the most effective flies for bonefish from the Indo-Pacific to the Bahamas, Belize, and Mexico. A good customer of ours who frequently fishes the Abacos reported that the fish reacted better to the gold mylar and eyes than to the standard pearl and silver, so we stuck with it. 5. The Polar Toad is a variation of the oh so effective Tarpon Toad that is just different enough to give those seasoned fish something new to look at this year. I personally love Toad flies for tarpon because they consistently track straight without wobbling from side to side. Video Instructions: Tying the Polar Toad Tarpon Fly
  6. Good point tidewaterfly. Never tried it for them, we have a realistic sand flea imitation that works on pompano when you let it roll around in the surf. Sand Flea fly
  7. The tier in the video is Darren, the shop's owner. He's left handed and tying towards him is what comes naturally. He believes it's an advantage because your mistakes are brought towards you instead of the far side of the fly where you can't see them.
  8. The shop's Biscayne Bay guide Capt. Dave Saddler came up with the Sad Flea for big Bay Bonefish, because it can easily be modified for super shallow Bahamas bonefish, and also be scaled up for permit, we decided to do a how-to on this simple and effective fly.
