Pretty nice video. I'm still learning threads, I have Danville, UNI, Veevus threads is a few sizes. Most of what I'm tying is between 10~18, I don't think I'll be outside those sizes for a while, unless it's smaller to maybe #20. I'd like to try some Nano-Silk, but from what I've heard the GSP can hurt my bobbins. I believe I heard Kelly Galloup say that in one of his videos. At the price of some of the bobbins, I'd hate to ruin one. I believe the Gutermann U-81 Skala 360 is pretty weak, I broke it a few times yesterday. Not that I'll not use it, just not tying anything hair. I, too, like the threads that can be flattened, the Gutermann is good there. I haven't tried any other type sewing threads, I have yarns and other materials.

I think when I die I'll have a bunch of thread left. It takes me and my drill about 2 minutes to spool one up. I still like Veevus better, I just wanted to give it a try. I think Veevus is stronger for the same denier, I broke it a couple of times, tying today. I still think my first choice is fly tying threads.

Veevus 70D 100 yd spool $4.50 vs Gutermann U-81 Skala 360 72D 5,468 yds $8.85 I am, as well, love both my Presentation 4000 and Special Edition Master. I like Veevus also.

I haven't used much Uni, most has been Veevus 70D. Compared to it, seams a little stronger, but my spool may have been older stock. It seems to break at times.

I just spooled my first Gutermann U-81 Skala 360, I ordered two colors that I use the most, black and brown. From what I've seen, it's a 72 denier. The U-121 Skala 240 is 108D, and U-151 Skala 200 is 135D. Anyone else have a good alternative to fly thread for small tying?

4.5" bulldog clip as CDC / Dubbing loop clamp
Rick58 replied to chugbug27's topic in The Fly Tying Bench
I got to thinking about the Swiss clamp, seeing it's discontinued I found one of the last and ordered it. I'm sure I'll use both the clamp and tweezers. -
Great price, how are the hooks?

4.5" bulldog clip as CDC / Dubbing loop clamp

Thanks Sandan, I ordered a pair from eBay for $6.00 I was looking at the Swiss clamp but at $45.00 bucks opted for the cheaper and used the extra savings for something else. -
I have been trying some off Amazon, called XFISHMAN, $23.00 for 240 size #10~#16 that seem pretty good. I saw them on Al Beatty YouTube.

Follow up on the stacker. Tried the Galloup, works ok, but still had the same problem of needing more hair to grab. But I got a Tiemco Stainless hair Stacker, and it does just what I wanted, has about 1/4" to grab. I really like this one.

Noted, thank you very much.
